Toni Bou expands his legend with a new Guinness Record in his hometown

Talk about Toni Bou It is talking about one of the most extraordinary sports races that are remembered in motorcycling, that is without a doubt. With a practically unattainable track record and a constant ability to overcome new challenges, the Catalan driver has once again surprised the world by adding a new Guinness Record to a career that is already part of the history of the sport.

We already told you, of course, the setting chosen for this new feat could not be more special. Piera, the Barcelona town where the pilot was born and raised, was the place where Bou decided to face a challenge as unique as it was demanding. The exact point was the roundabout that bears his name, also presided over by a statue dedicated to his figure, a symbol of the enormous bond he maintains with his neighbors.

This was Toni Bou’s new record

Before the eyes of family, fans, institutional representatives and the media, the pilot of Repsol Honda HRC managed to complete 53 consecutive jumps on the rear wheel within a circle formed by drums of Repsol. A maneuver that, although it may seem simple to the uninitiated, requires a level of balance, precision and control of the motorcycle within the reach of very few riders in the world.

This new international recognition is added to 2 other Guinness Records that already appeared in the history of the Spanish pilot. The first came in 2014, when he managed to record a vertical jump with a ramp of 3.24 meters, a mark that even then surprised specialists due to its enormous difficulty. Far from conforming, Bou He raised the bar again in 2017. On that occasion he reached 3.28 meters in the vertical jump and also set a new standing jump record with a height of 2.05 meters.

Now, almost a decade after that first entry in the Guinness Book, the pilot once again adds a new chapter to a collection of achievements that seems to have no end.

If something distinguishes Toni Bou of the rest of the pilots in history is the magnitude of their figures. To his records are added no less than 39 world titles, an unprecedented number in any specialty of motorcycling. His dominance is also reflected in the outdoor championships, where he has accumulated 168 victories and 226 podiums in TrialGP, as well as in the indoor X-Trial competitions, with 99 victories and 117 podium appearances.

After completing the challenge, Bou received the official Guinness World Records certification from the judge Timary Anoukin a particularly emotional moment as it occurred in front of the neighbors who have seen him grow since his first steps on a motorcycle.

Toni Boudeclared: «I am very happy to have achieved this new Guinness Record and doing it here, in Piera, makes it even more special. It was a very technical challenge, which required a lot of precision and concentration, and physically it has been complicated, much more than it seemed from the outside. Being able to share it with my people, my family, the neighbors and all the fans has been incredible. It is a day that I will always remember and I want to thank Repsol and my team for making it possible«.
