When we talk about military motorcycles, the image that usually comes to mind is that of a trail bike with a combustion engine, a bulky gas tank and a roar that can be heard for miles. The MUL.E breaks that stereotype at its roots.
It is electric, it is all-wheel drive and it has been specifically designed at the request of the Ukrainian army to operate in a high-intensity conflict, where silence, low thermal signature and the ability to move through impossible terrain make the difference between completing the mission and not returning from it.
NorthForge Dispatch: the military motorcycle that makes less noise than a refrigerator
As confirmed by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, the motorcycle has been developed by a Ukrainian company specialized in products for military use, and has already passed the necessary field tests to be coded and authorized for operational use in the Armed Forces. Its mission: transport armed personnel, light cargo and wounded, both on roads of any surface and off-road.
What makes the MUL.E unique
What sets this bike apart from any other combustion engine military motorcycle we have seen so far is its technical architecture. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense highlights several key points:
- 2×2 all-wheel drive with two independent electric motors, which in addition to improving traction on difficult terrain, provides redundancy: if one of the motors fails or is damaged, the motorcycle can continue operating with the other.
- Low visibility and silent operation, something critical in reconnaissance or infiltration missions where the noise of a combustion engine would give away the position.
- Rapid deployment and withdrawal, designed for operations where every second counts.
High operating range and high top speed, without giving up the autonomy necessary for long missions. - High resistance to mines thanks to its very low pressure on the ground, comparable to that of an infantryman on foot, which avoids activating a good part of the mines designed to detect the weight of vehicles and armored vehicles.
The motorcycle can also tow a loaded trailer, expanding its logistical utility beyond transporting personnel.
Generator on two wheels: the key to its autonomy
This is where the MUL.E stands out from any other electric motorcycle, military or civil. A full charge of its batteries offers a range of close to 100 km, a respectable but limited figure if we talk about prolonged operations far from any electrical supply point.
Konung Trike: The military tricycle prepared to fight on any terrain
The solution that the Ukrainian engineers have found is as simple as it is ingenious: an additional gasoline generator, mounted on the motorcycle’s own chassis, which recharges the standard batteries on the fly. And the most interesting thing is that this generator is removable, which gives it a second useful life once it is removed from the motorcycle:
- It can be used to charge phone batteries, communications equipment and FPV drones – absolutely vital tools on today’s frontline.
- It can supply electricity to an entire unit deployed in the field.
That is to say, the MUL.E is not only a transport vehicle: it is also a portable power source for the rest of the unit, something that no conventional military vehicle offers as standard.
Its wide all-terrain tires, combined with all-wheel drive, allow you to move over muddy terrain, sand, deep snow and swampy areas without losing traction, something that any biker who has tried an off-road trail bike will understand perfectly: it is not enough to have power, you have to know how to transmit it to the ground when it does not cooperate.
1,500 motorcycles to reinforce the mobility of the Ukrainian army
The codification of the MUL.E comes in a context of clear commitment to the motorcycle as a tactical tool. Along with pickups, motorcycles continue to be one of the most in-demand vehicles on the front due to their ability to offer rapid mobility where logistics are complicated, there are no roads or operations are carried out in small groups.
In 2026, the Defense Procurement Agency (DOT) signed contracts for the supply of 1,500 motorcycles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, tripling the figure from the previous year. The competition between six bidders also made it possible to lower the final price, saving close to 12 million hryvnias for the State coffers.
Mobility on the front has a direct relationship with the speed of executing combat tasks and, ultimately, with the survival of soldiers. That a two-wheeled, electric and silent vehicle, capable of generating electricity for the rest of the unit, becomes part of that arsenal, gives an idea of where modern warfare is evolving: less noise, less thermal signature and more energy autonomy on the ground.
