Triumph reveals how it secretly created its off-road project from scratch

When Triumph decided to fully enter the world of off-roading, it didn’t simply have to develop new bikes. The British brand was starting practically from scratch in disciplines dominated by manufacturers with decades of experience, and needed to create a product, sports structure and knowledge at the same time.

Much of that work began in 2018 and remained out of the spotlight for years. Now Triumph has decided to tell what that process was like with ALL IN, its first documentary series dedicated to a project that would end up taking the brand to the most important motocross and enduro championships.

The first episode, Without Compromise, is now available and focuses precisely on those first steps. Steve Sargent, Ian Kimber, Rod Lopusnak, Iván Cervantes and Ricky Carmichael explain how the decision to enter motocross was born, the secret development of the first bikes and all the work necessary before being able to take on manufacturers with enormous racing experience.

Iván Cervantes has been one of the pillars of the project

It was not just a question of engineering and developing the mechanical part. To carry out such an ambitious project, Triumph launched new collaborations, an intense testing program and even a specific dealer network for the new motocross and enduro platforms.

From secret development to competing at the highest level in the best world off-road competitions

The project ended up becoming public and in 2024 Triumph made the jump to the MX2 World Championship and the American SuperMotocross. Then came the logical step towards enduro, with presence in championships such as EnduroGP, the SuperEnduro World Championship and some of the most important extreme enduro events.

Throughout this process, competition has been directly part of the development of the motorcycles. Names such as Ricky Carmichael, Iván Cervantes, Jonny Walker, Jordon Smith and Mikkel Haarup have participated in one way or another in a project that has achieved results, podiums and victories in different disciplines in just a few years.

ALL IN will tell this entire journey through four chapters that will be available on the Hinckley firm’s YouTube channel. After Without Compromise, Winning Mindset will arrive in October, focused on motocross and Supercross and featuring riders such as Guillem Farrés and Camden McLellan.

In November it will be the turn of Beyond Limits, dedicated to the enduro program and its evolution in EnduroGP, SuperEnduro and Extreme Enduro. Finally, in December Commitment to Performance will be released, which will show the less visible part of the project: research, testing, durability, engineering and investment.

The first episode gives us the opportunity to learn about the part of the work that Triumph kept hidden for several years and that began long before its first off-road motorcycles appeared publicly. A project that started in the most absolute secrecy in 2018 and that, eight years later, already has a presence in some of the most important competitions in the world and where they even have the MX2 title really close.
