There is a question that every motorcyclist has ever asked:It is better to travel alone or accompanied? The answer depends much more on what each person is looking for on a route than on the number of motorcycles that make up the group. Because traveling alone offers a freedom that is difficult to match, while sharing the road allows you to turn a good trip into a collective memory.
Going out alone means not having to negotiate every stop, every detour, or every change of pace. You can stop whenever you want, change your itinerary because you’ve seen a road that catches your attention, or simply stop for a coffee without having to coordinate with anyone.
But traveling in a group provides something that no planning can completely reproduce: the shared experience. A conversation during a stop, discovering a landscape with other colleagues or helping each other in the event of a small unforeseen event, are part of that social dimension that also explains why the motorcycle is much more than a means of transportation.
Traveling alone: freedom to decide every km
One of the great advantages of traveling alone by motorcycle is the freedom. There are no schedules to agree on, rhythms to adapt or decisions to share. «The trip becomes a completely personal and interior experience«. If you like a stretch of road, you can enjoy it without thinking about whether the rest of the group wants to stop. If fatigue appears earlier than expected, you can modify your plans. And if you discover an interesting place, you have the possibility of turning it into an impromptu stop.
There is also a dimension that is more difficult to explain: the feeling of being completely “connected with the journey«. For hours there is only the motorcycle, the road and everything that appears around. Of course, independence also means assuming full responsibility for planning. «Checking the condition of the motorcycle, checking tires, organizing luggage, calculating breaks and planning the itinerary become even more important when there is no other companion nearby.«.
Traveling in a group: sharing the road changes the experience
Faced with the absolute freedom of traveling alone, group routes introduce another ingredient: share. It doesn’t necessarily mean riding close to each other all day. A well-organized group needsMaintain safe distances, respect the pace of each participant and prevent the collective dynamic from becoming pressure for the driver.«.
The great attraction is in everything that happens around the km. A route can begin with a group of strangers and end with several pending conversations, new contacts and the desire to meet again. And that is precisely one of the peculiarities of this community: many relationships begin with something as simple as sharing a road.
What if you want to travel alone, but meet people?
Perhaps this is the most interesting part of all. “You don’t need to have a group of friends with a motorcycle to enjoy an organized route”. It is also not necessary to come accompanied to be part of a group. There are formats precisely designed so that the starting point is common and the experience is built throughout the day. It is a way to break one of the usual barriers for those who want to start doing routes with other bikers: having to know someone beforehand.
Rider Soul fits especially well in that middle ground. His proposal combines a non-competitive motorcycle tourism experience with a route that is discovered during the day, so that the route is important, but also what happens around it.
It is not necessary to understand a Rider Soul like a conventional group outing. The organization proposes «secret routes, waypoints and navigation that is part of the experience »while the progressive departure allows participants not to have to face the entire route as a single caravan. This allows something especially interesting for those who arrive alone: «start the day on your own and end by sharing kilometers, conversations and experiences with other motorcyclists».
Rider Soul has built a good part of its proposal around that idea of community. The 2026 season still has 2 scheduled events: Guadalajara, on October 3, and Albaida, in Valencia, on October 24. And, as always, both have routes of 300 and 500 km. In Guadalajara, the proposal is developed through the Alcarreña province, while Albaida proposes a route that combines the Valencian interior with the coastal environment.
