I suppose that more than one will not have heard of it in life and it is something totally normal, taking into account that As soon as 50 copies of the model were manufactured In the early 1990s.

On the other hand, we have the history of the brand itself, of those that do not leave anyone indifferent and that, like many other niche firms in the sector, had truly bad times throughout its more than 100 years of history. Particularly at the time to which this 644 Osca, the Japanese specialist belongs CK Designafter one of his trips to the European motorcycle halls, he receives a proposal from the owner of the brand, Fritz Roth to build a model in collaboration.

In any case, CK Design and Horex were clear about their ideas, but it was necessary to undertake the project: Count and sound money. So they chose to manufacture a model using technical, reliable and avant -garde solutions in equal parts. For example, the engine chosen to propel this jewel, the same one that at that time did the same in one of the trail models by antonomasia of the time, the Dominator Honda.

The well -known 644 cc monocylinder propeller (hence the commercial designation of the model) managed to offer a final power of 44 hp at 6,000 rpm. However, from CK Design they worked the magic based on installing, among others, a lightened piston, customary exhaust system or making improvements in the admission system. The engine was associated with a gearbox Nippon Seiki. By then the 644 Osca already declared 50 hp at 7,000 laps and 57 nm of maximum torque at 5,500 rpm.

The platform that wrapped the mechanics was chaired by a tread-molibdeno steel chassis of Trellis type totally adjustable to taste. The brand declared a variable wheelbase between 1,365 and 1,388 mm. Likewise, the posterior tilting was another components worth examining once we prostrated ourselves before the motorcycle silhouette. In this case manufactured in CR-MO square and with a lower reinforcement.

Other details of the cycle itself were, for example, a team of Showa suspensions, with 41 mm inverted fork on the front, with up to 12 regulation positions in hardness and a posterior shock absorber, anchored to the chassis and tilting by one of its sides.

For braking, the 644 Osca resorted to a 320 mm front disc, driven by a F-1 Racing Fourth Piston and a second unit installed on the rear bushing, in this case 220 mm in diameter and associated with a two-piston clamp. The equipment was installed in beautiful 7-Sprick aluminum tires, designed exclusively for this model, and footwear with Metzeler tires.

As for the aesthetics that the 644 Osca looked, it stood out for the simplicity and neatness of its lines, with an image in line with the stylistic resources of the time. If we had to compare it in this aspect, its appearance resembled the Ducati SS models of the moment. Beyond this aspect, its factor manufactured and FRP, the aluminum carved fuel tank or to show off an emblem in the tank with a glass enameled finish and a design based on which the last regina of Horex looked.

With a weight of just 150 kilograms in the order of march, together with its excellent quality of components and the good work of the Honda engine, they made this 644 OSCA a special and appetizing mount in equal parts. However, a sale price of almost 3.5 million yen of the time, about 5 million pesetas to change, was a great ballast for those interested in getting a copy of the model.
