He Shaguar It’s a Jaguar E-Type with a Union Jack (the flag of the United Kingdom) painted all over its body. It is a car that was used in all three movies. Austin Powershosted by Mike Myers and appearing in key scenes in the trilogy. It is one of the most recognizable cars in cinema… even by those who are not car fans.
Those films, created by actor and comedian Mike Myers, parodied spy films with absurd humor and memorable characters such as Dr. Evil, Goldmember, Fat Bastard and Mini-Me. Presented from 1997 to 2002, they were a box office success for their extravagance and pop culture references.
In all three films Austin Powers had a car that rivaled James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5: a 1967 Jaguar E-Type Roadster Series 1. This car was called Shaguar. The same car was used throughout the trilogy and is now for sale.
The Shaguar is one of the last ones made without glass headlight covers. It was powered by the 4.2-liter Jaguar XK inline six-cylinder engine associated with a four-speed manual transmission. It has a steering wheel with a wooden rim, matching the gear lever and a blue interior.
The car was restored by Jaguar in the mid-2000s, after the final Austin Powers movie had finished filming. It has since been in a private collection and its owner has occasionally lent it to Jaguar, who used it at various events.
The Shaguar is now offered for sale for the first time in many years. It is scheduled to be auctioned on January 18 in Kissimmee, Florida.
