The engine continues to be the proven single-cylinder engine that this season adapts to the latest homologation Euro5+. With a power of 25 kW (34 HP) at 7,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 35 Nm at 5,750 rpmpower is transmitted through a continuously variable CVT transmission and a highly torsionally rigid swingarm.
Both the BMW C 400 X and the BMW C 400 GT are now equipped as standard with BMW Motorrad’s ABS Pro system. The ABS Pro, through a sensor box mounted on the ABS hydraulic group itself, now takes into account the angle of inclination of the motorcycle, thanks to which any ABS-assisted braking in a curve now offers even more safety. ABS Pro prevents the wheels from locking even when quickly applying the brake lever and reduces sudden changes in steering force, thus preventing unwanted lifting of the vehicle even during braking.
In addition, the Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) function linked to ABS Pro offers a very sensitive response and great braking and driving stability with the best possible deceleration even when cornering. The DBC system constantly evaluates the data emitted by the sensor box, at the moment a certain deceleration value is received during braking, if there is a simultaneous acceleration request from the driver, this is identified as implausible and the application is prevented. opening of the butterfly valve.
As a result, the vehicle remains stable and the braking distance is reduced. If a defined deceleration force is reached, the hazard lights come on automatically. Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and Engine Drag Torque Control (MSR) are also standard equipment. DTC offers even more safety when accelerating, even at lean angles and especially when the road is slippery.
With the MSR, unstable driving conditions that can occur during coasting or abrupt reduction of the throttle, causing excessive brake slip on the rear wheel (skidding or skidding) can be safely avoided. In these cases, the MSR opens the throttle valves enough to equalize the drag torque and stabilize the vehicle.
The BMW C 400 X and BMW C 400 GT now come as standard with a large 6.5-inch TFT display. In combination with the BMW Motorrad Connected app, the display is linked to the multi-controller on the left handlebar and can be operated quickly, safely and comfortably. As part of the Connectivity Pro option, the BMW C 400 GT equips a large 10.25” screen and allows map navigation in combination with a Wi-Fi connection between the scooter and the customer’s smartphone.
It is also possible to call, listen to music and navigate comfortably while driving. These features can be used without installing an app. If there is an active Bluetooth connection with a standard smartphone, the rider can enjoy listening to music while driving and charge the smartphone in the actively cooled storage compartment. Additionally, the free app BMW Motorrad Connected offers convenient arrow navigation directly through the TFT screen.
This basic navigation is especially attractive to motorcyclists who want to navigate comfortably in daily traffic or on short trips without the need for additional equipment. Navigation preparation with support for the BMW Motorrad Connected Ride Navigator or the BMW Motorrad Connected Ride Cradle support is now also available as factory equipment (not in combination with the 10.25″ display).
On the other hand, the new BMW C 400 X and C 400 GT now have more space under the seat, allowing even more luggage to be stored. In the BMW C 400 The BMW C 400 GT now features a manually adjustable windscreen as standard and can be fitted ex works with a rear luggage rack as part of the optional equipment.
With 43.5 L of storage spacethe new top case not only offers 13.5 L more volume than before, but also 10kg payloadinstead of the previous 5 kg. It also has interior lighting and a USB charging port. The new top case can be optionally equipped with a padded backrest for the passenger and side panels painted in the color of the fairings.
This new topcase is fixed to the vehicle using an anti-vibration luggage rack. New original BMW Motorrad accessories such as body protectors and hand guards complete the list of offers. In addition to the basic storm black metallic version with black/grey seat, black rims and front brake calipers, the BMW C 400 X is equipped with a new front area with a more dynamic design.
The new BMW C 400 X is also available in the new model variant “Rugged”. In this version, the BMW C 400 Red rims and stickers along with new off-road designed tires are found, along with gold brake calipers, at the front.
A dark tinted windshield, a red and black saddle, stainless steel footpegs and hand guards available as an optional accessory complete its rugged look. The footpegs as well as the anodized handlebar weights are available as original BMW Motorrad accessories for both the BMW C 400 X and the BMW C 400 GT.
The ground clearance of the BMW C 400 GT has been optimized to offer even greater comfort and improved ergonomics. In addition to the basic version Storm Black Metallic with black seat, rims and front brake calipers, the BMW C 400 GT is also available in the new “Exclusive” finish.
In this variant, the BMW C 400 GT in diamond white metallic body color includes gold wheels, while the lines and saddle in black with stitching and the emblem embroidered in the color of the rim complement the front brake calipers in gold and the windshield slightly tinted. A projector that illuminates the ground with the vehicle logo or stainless steel inserts on the running boards complete the equipment of this optional variant.
