Confirmed! The MXGP World Championship will close in Spain with a third race

While the MXGP World Championship was in Agueda, Portugal, this past weekend great news was confirmed for Spanish fans. The last event of the season will also be held on Iberian soil and more specifically on La Mancha soil.

As confirmed by the organization of the MXGP World Championship, on September 28 and 29 the championship will lower the curtain with the Castlilla-La Mancha GP that will be held in Cózar. A town with just under 1,000 registered inhabitants that is located in the southern part of the province of Ciudad Real, and relatively close to Valdepeñas.

In this way and after the Spanish GP already held in Arroyomolinos, Madrid, and the Galicia GP that will be held in Lugo next weekend of May 11 and 12, the entire MXGP World Championship will have a third race in Spain .

The route promises to be spectacular and a challenge for the drivers and, of course, for Jorge Prado who continues fighting to retain the title. In fact, it is, without a doubt, the success of Prado that is behind this enormous boost that motocross is receiving in our country. Yes, the Galician pilot is the best representative of the discipline.

The Castilla-La Mancha GP will be the closing of the 2024 MXGP World Championship but not of the season

The event, which as we say will close the 2024 MXGP World Championship, will also serve as a prologue to the Motocross of the Nations that will take place only a week later, although in this case in the United Kingdom.

Furthermore, rumors suggest that the Castilla-La Mancha GP could be Jorge Prado's last in MXGP. According to the latest information, it is possible that Prado has already signed a contract to race next year in the AMA SX.

Even so, whatever happens, what is certain is that it will be a perfect opportunity to see both the current champion and the rest of the drivers on a track that will debut. And in an area where many fans from the southern part of Spain will be able to get there with fewer hours of travel.

This is how the 2024 calendar looks like

Tickets are now on sale for the return of the MXGP to Castilla-La Mancha and although changing provinces, decades and even almost centuries, we must never forget Talavera and its Cerro Negro, what great days of motocross has offered and continues to offer to the fans of the central area.

Happy drivers
