At Stellantis we have always seen a very strong commitment to electrification. Electric versions of practically all models and in all brands have been introduced, always coexisting with combustion to adapt to everyone's needs. However, now they also intend to expand the families with a mechanic located between two worlds. It is the one that carries the DS 3 Hybridwhich allows the small utility vehicle to be more efficient than it was and benefit from the DGT's ECO label.
You get it with a small electric motor which is integrated into the transmission and which reduces consumption by up to almost 20% compared to the traditional combustion variant. The DS 3 Hybrid uses the engine 1.2-liter three-cylinder PureTech along with that electric mechanics integrated into the six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, e-DCS6. That small motor provides 21 kW and 55 Nm of torque on its own, while it is powered by the self-charging 0.9 kWh NMC lithium-ion battery.
The result is a utility vehicle with a total power of 136 HP and 230 Nm of torque which stands out for its efficiency. To the 20% reduced consumption that we mentioned before, we must add the electrical capabilities it offers. Only with the action of the battery it allows you not to use any gasoline about half the time on urban routes, only using the energy stored in the battery during braking and deceleration. In addition, the electric motor offers that extra performance in acceleration at low revolutions.
Compared to the PureTech 130 combustion engine with C label, it approves a consumption of 1.2 liters less, in addition to emitting 27 g/km of CO2 less. He also boasts of doing the 0 to 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds (1.2 seconds less) and complete 1,000 meters from a standstill in 29.7 seconds (1.1 seconds less). In short, a version that is postulated as the most interesting in the range, by filling precisely that gap between the gasoline one and the 100% electric one. The DS 3 Hybrid is now accepting orders with a price from 33,400 euros in Spain.
