electric and hydrogen motorcycles and the return of the GSX-R spirit

The participation of suzuki in it Japan Mobility Show 2025which will be held from October 30 to November 9 at Tokyo Big Sight, perfectly summarizes the evolution of the factory: technological diversification, environmental commitment and passion for emotions on two wheels. From the most urban solutions to high competition, suzuki shows that its objective remains the same as it was more than a century ago: to always be “at your side”, offering mobility solutions for all lifestyles.

In this edition, the brand takes a step further with respect to its previous corporate message, going from “For the world, passion to create a new answer” to “For you, passion to create a new answer“It is a change of perspective: from the global to the personal.

This will be Suzuki’s proposals at the Japan Mobility Show 2025

Without a doubt, among the main protagonists of the show are the new GSX-8T and GSX-8TTtwo versions that reinterpret the technical basis of the GSX-8S with a somewhat more classically inspired aesthetic. On the one hand, the GSX-8T adopts a more urban and refined image, while the GSX-8TT adds a dose of adventurous spirit, with components adapted to explore paths beyond the asphalt. In both cases, Suzuki has integrated the latest electronic assistance systems.

Another novelty will be the e-POa folding electric bicycle that combines the practicality of an urban e-bike with the functionality of a small moped. suzuki defines this concept as a new type of mobility “between two worlds”.

The e-PO It can be used as an assisted bicycle or function as a fully electric vehicle, offering a range of more than 30 km in a very contained size (1,531 mm long). Its nominal power of 0.25 kW places it in the 50 cc equivalent category. This proposal reflects the interest of suzuki for exploring solutions that facilitate urban micromobility, an increasingly relevant area in Japan and Europe. With its foldable design and low weight, the e-PO aims to be a perfect companion.

On the other hand, the scooter e-Direction It will make its debut on Japanese soil after its initial presentation at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in India. It is the first electric model of suzuki conceived with a global strategy and focused on offering a balance between efficiency, technology and accessibility.

With compact dimensions (1,860 mm long and 715 mm wide) and a power of 0.98 kW, the e-Direction It offers performance comparable to that of a 125 cc scooter. In addition, its range of up to 80 km makes it a realistic option for daily use. By the way, one of its highlights is its electronic address, a first in the category.

The legendary Suzuki GSX-R1000R will also occupy a prominent place. This machine, a symbol of Suzuki’s sporting DNA, was the protagonist at the 2025 Suzuka 8 Hours where it was presented in the race. In the room, visitors will be able to experience a simulation of maximum lean on the motorcycle, recreating the real posture of the riders. With its 999 cc engine and a cycle part derived from experience in MotoGPthe GSX-R1000R remains the emblem of pure performance within the factory’s catalogue.

Without a doubt, one of the most fascinating projects at the stand will be the hydrogen engine applied to the Burgman. Unlike a conventional electric vehicle, the hydrogen engine maintains sensory elements that many motorists value, such as the sound of the exhaust or the direct response of the accelerator.

Research into hydrogen combustion engines is part of the multidirectional approach of suzuki towards carbon neutrality, exploring different technological routes according to the needs of each market.

The brand will also present the GIXXER SF 250 FFVa version of its 250 cc sports car adapted to run on “Flexi Fuel”. Thanks to specific adjustments in the fuel pump, injector and electronic management, this model can use mixtures with up to 85% bioethanol, a fuel of plant origin that reduces CO₂ emissions compared to conventional gasoline. This bike is available in India from January 2025.

Completing the exhibition, suzuki will show the new DR-Z4SMa modern reinterpretation of his mythical DR-Z. This new supermoto recovers the rebellious spirit, combining an agile chassis, an updated single-cylinder engine and an aesthetic that mixes the sporty with the urban. Without a doubt, a machine intended for those seeking pure sensations on secondary roads or karting circuits, reinforcing the presence of suzuki in the SM segment.
