For a few months we have been where brands specialized in the electrical segment, such as Energeticare not going through their best financial times. The reason is none other than the lack of interest on the part of the public in the type of product they offer. It is not easy to enter the hearts of bikers with motorcycles that are still far away, in terms of sensations, from what a standard mount can offer.
But beyond the personal assessments of each one, we have the economic plane, which stands as the central pillar of any company. And this is where the numbers end up putting the finishing touches on brands like Energica, Cake or ARC among others, basically because the math doesn’t work out.
The main problem lies in the direct relationship that exists between the huge amounts of investment required to launch a project of this magnitude, and the subsequent number of sales of the models that end up being offered years later. Without a balance between both factors, the situation can become very difficult, as is currently the case with Energica.
Energetic in a borderline “crisis situation”
As we have recently learned from the colleagues at Ride Apart, Energica would be going through a very important economic downturn. To the point that some of the workers who make up the brand’s current staff would have organized different pickets in rejection of the company’s current financial situation.
Apparently: “Energica workers have been under a solidarity contract for months through Italy’s Instituto Nazionale della Previdenza Sociale (Social Security Institute), which pays them directly, but that contract will expire on October 22.”
On the other hand, Energica executives would have been evicted from the facilities “following a negotiated debt payment agreement.” After a meeting between the workers, the employers and the brand, it seems that the situation has worsened in recent weeks, since “Friday’s meeting in the Region was, in fact, another smokescreen”as stated by the Italian media Chronica.
They report that: “The general director had informed Fiom Cgil, Rsu and institutions that the board of directors would meet on Friday afternoon, and this to decide if the company was in a position to continue production or if it was necessary to open a judicial liquidation procedure .”
The reality is that in a few days the contract ends and the continuity of the company does not seem viable after the latest events that have occurred. We will be attentive to new information in this regard.
