Garavini is a coachbuilder founded in 1908 that has surprised us with its latest project. It takes the Fiat Topolino quadricycle as its base and has given it a major makeover, taking inspiration from the island of Capri and the dolce vita style.
The result is a truly luxurious quadricycle… and quite expensive. Its price is 45,000 euros, without taxes and that does not include the quadricycle, so exceeds 60,000 euros. A whim that we don’t really know who it is aimed at (beyond the wealthy public) and of which only ten units will be manufactured.
And what does the most expensive Topolino have that we never imagined before? Obviously, a completely revised body. At the front, the sculpted bumper is better sculpted and it has round LED headlights reminiscent of the Fiat 500. It has no doors and has retro-looking faired wheels.
At the rear, the quadricycle is meant to resemble a yacht: the rear window and vertical taillights have been removed and there is an exposed load space with a low floor covered in wood and a round element reminiscent of a spare wheel holder. The roof imitates a beach tarp with its black and white stripes.
Inside, Garavini has integrated a new pair of seats with removable headrests that can function as beach pillows. In addition, each of the 10 units can be customized according to the owner’s preferences.
Nothing has changed about the mechanical part of the quadricycle, which it shares with the Citroën Ami and the Opel Rocks-e. This Topolino is propelled by an electric motor with 8.2 hp of power and is powered by a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 5.4 kW, with which it can travel up to 70 km without stopping to plug it in. It can be recharged from a conventional 220 V domestic socket in just over three hours.
