Half scooter, half trail adventure

On the 60th Anniversary of its founding as a brand, KYMCO has unveiled, among others, the new concepts of its future CV-R5 and RevoNEX. Two models that the Taiwanese firm estimates will be presented in their final version in the next EICMA 2024.

The Nangang Exhibition Hallwas the place chosen for the event, in addition to having the presence of some prominent personalities of the country, related to the world of performing arts.

KYMCO CV-R5: The total ADV scooter

Halfway between a conventional trail bike and a sports scooter, the CV-R5 has a truly striking appearance. While its front end stands out for its very marked ADV lines, it is only when viewed from the side that we discover that we are looking at a normal scooter. However, there are details that reveal its intentions, such as the chassis fitted with mixed tyres, or a voluminous high side exhaust.

To balance out the shape, the rear is sharply finished with a stylised taillight. In addition, top-level premium equipment does the rest. Double front disc, large inverted front fork, wide “trail-type” handlebars, Full-LED lighting and an efficient ABS system are among the most notable elements.

On the mechanical side, the KYMCO CV-R5 will have a completely new engine of 427 cccapable of generating up to 40.2 Nm at 5,000 rpm. This will work in conjunction with a high-performance, state-of-the-art chassis and a conventional double-arm swingarm with PTM system, which acts independently of the mechanics. Transmission, for its part, is by chain.

KYMCO RevoNEX: Plug-in Café Racer

Another of the new models presented by KYMCO, along with the CV-R5 Crossover, is the new evolution of its already well-known RevoNEX. This time sporting a striking café racer image and equipped with all the necessary elements for legal use on the road. It seems that the futuristic concepts developed on this platform, which we have seen before, are being left behind.

Vintage style, marinated with the latest plug-in technologies, are the cards that the future will use RevoNEX in the moment in wich KYMCO is finally launched on the market. Of course, some cutting-edge technological advances will be included, such as a simulated shifting system, which the brand is already working on.

This will have both a clutch lever and a conventional gear lever, just like the one we can find on a standard motorcycle. The complexity of the matter comes from the operation itself, in charge of emulating the transition that is made every time we engage a gear in any conventional gear system.
