Hero, a gigantic company
Until now we had heard about motorcycles thanks to the Dakar, a test in which Hero managed to get on the podium (2nd place) in the hands of Ross Branch, quite a feat if we take into account that its first participation dates back to 2017. What we did not know are the magnitudes behind the Indian company.
With 125 million customers and the capacity to manufacture 7.5 million motorcycles per year, it is a brand capable of offering very competitive prices thanks to the use of economies of scale.
We were able to see this at the presentation of the company in Spain, which took place in Madrid. We are the 50th country in which Hero is installed to sell its products, with presence in Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America.
To achieve these figures, Hero has eight manufacturing plants, six of them in India, one in Colombia and one in Bangladesh, in addition to two research and development centers in India and in Germany, near Munich.
It also collaborates with other brands, such as Harley-Davidson and Zero Motorcycles, and has strategic investments in Ather Energy and Euler Motors to seek new mobility solutions.
The executive vice president of Hero MotoCorp, Mr. Sanjay Bhan, was present at the presentation, in which he was enthusiastic about the introduction of the brand in Spain through the ONEX Group:
“Hero MotoCorp’s entry into Spain marks a decisive milestone in our global expansion process. Following our foray into Italy, our launch in Spain further strengthens our presence in Europe, one of the most dynamic two-wheeler markets in the world. With a presence that now spans 50 international markets across five continents, we reaffirm our commitment to redefining the future of mobility through premium mobility solutions. latest generation that offer unlimited freedom and adventure to motorcyclists around the world.”
The commercial director of the ONEX Group, Dawinder Wahla Singh, was equally enthusiastic, convinced of the success of the models that begin a path that promises to be fruitful:
“We are proud to partner with Hero MotoCorp in its debut in the Spanish market. Both Hero MotoCorp and the ONEX Group share a deep commitment to putting the customer first and ensuring a seamless ownership experience, backed by a strong sales and service network across the country. The Hunk 440 and Xpulse 200 offer a unique combination of technology and value that will resonate deeply with Spanish consumers”.
The ONEX group has 30 points of sale throughout the country – which will be 50 by the end of 2025 – that guarantee, as they have been doing until now with the group’s other brands, impeccable after-sales service and commercial assistance. Hero MotoCorp validates its commitment to quality and customer trust with a standard 5-year warranty on all its products.
Trail models: Xpulse 200 4V and Xpulse 200 4V Pro
Hero Xpulse 200 4V
With a marked practical emphasis on the path between the trail and the urban do-it-all motorcycle, Hero presented the Xpulse 200 4V, a simple single-cylinder with an indestructible character capable of withstanding the worst of treatment without blinking.
Without great technological boasts, it offers a 200 cm³ single-cylinder and 4 valves that offers 18.9 HP of maximum power and a maximum torque of 17.35 Nm. Although spartan in style, it is well equipped, including digital speedometer, LCD screen, Bluetooth navigation “turn by turn”gear position indicator, brightness adjustment and Full LED headlights.
The amazing thing about its proposal is the price, no less than €2,592, including the 5-year warranty and the decoration option in Nexus blue/white or sport red/black.
Hero Xpulse 200 4V Pro
The Xpulse 200 4V Pro is a version of the previous one with a more off-road orientation and that does not clash with tall users either. For this, it equips long-travel suspensions. Specifically, its fork has 250 mm of travel and is adjustable in compression and extension.
The rear monoshock is adjustable in preload and has a travel of 220 mm. To this we must add a raised handlebar, forming a motorcycle of generous dimensions with which you can go very far.
The price of the Xpulse 200 4V Pro with adjustable suspensions only adds €200, leaving the final price at €2,792, enjoying the same guarantee, but with a single Fadeless pearl white decoration. We are very attentive to testing them as soon as possible.
The roadster: Hunk 440
Hero fully enters a very competitive segment: that of medium-displacement utility motorcycles. The Hunk 440 is capable of defending itself in the urban jungle and on fast roads with great ease.
It has a 440 cm³ single-cylinder that delivers 27 HP at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 36 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The disc brakes (320 mm at the front and 240 mm at the rear) are assisted by dual-channel ABS and located on a 17-inch rim, while the fork is KYB with a USD cartridge.
The equipment is very complete: the TFT screen has navigation “turn by turn” and indicates all the information you may need: connectivity, gear engaged, time, fuel level, consumption, range and voltage. The lighting is Full LED, it has a USB socket and has anti-fall defenses on both sides. Climbing on top of it, I perceived it as spacious and comfortable.
Like its sisters, the Xpulse 200 4V, we will be able to test it in a very short time. Its price, with everything it offers, is very competitive: €3,488 and it will be available in three colors: twilight blue, ghost black and titanium gray.
