The Rebel family of large-displacement cruisers receives a refreshed color palette for the 2026 model year, keeping the appeal of this popular contemporary-style custom fresh. The 2026 CMX1100 Rebel, its touring-oriented version CMX1100T Rebel (not available in Spain), and the urban-style variant CMX1100SE, share the robust and proven 1,084 cc parallel twin engine, available with a six-speed manual transmission or with the Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) option.
For the 2025 model year, the entire Rebel range received a major mechanical update, a more ergonomic driving position and technological improvements, such as the addition of a 5-inch color TFT display with smartphone connectivity via Honda RoadSync and a USB-C socket. Technical highlights of the Rebel range include the Throttle By Wire (TBW) system, three preset riding modes plus two user customizable (USER) modes, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) with three levels of intervention and cruise control as standard.
Rivals of the Honda CMX1100 Rebel 2026
Within the high displacement cruiser segment we could highlight the following models as more direct rivals of the Rebel 1100:
Engine of the Honda CMX1100 Rebel 2026
The 2026 CMX1100 Rebel’s 1,084 cc, 8-valve SOHC parallel twin engine is derived directly from that used in the CRF1100L Africa Twin, which in the 2024 model received a significant improvement in low- and mid-range torque, without loss of maximum power. In the 2025 model, the Rebel incorporated these same improvements, providing a sportier touch to its cruiser capabilities.
The bore and stroke remain at 92 mm x 81.5 mm, but the compression ratio was increased from 10.1:1 to 10.5:1, allowing a maximum power of 65 kW at 7,250 rpm. However, on a bike like this, the most important thing is the torque: with a maximum value of 98 Nm at 4,750 rpm, the response is forceful from the first turn of the accelerator to the top of the rev counter.
Engine management is carried out through Throttle-By-Wire (TBW) and PGM-FI electronic injection system. The exhaust sound has also been carefully tuned: below 4,000 rpm, the 5.3-litre oval silencer emits a low, deep pulse, which transforms into a higher, more powerful tone as the revs rise.
Both the six-speed manual version and the DCT share the same crankcase, with minimal external differences. Secondary vibrations are neutralized by the reciprocating movement of the pistons, while primary and inertial vibrations are canceled by biaxial balance shafts, which also drive the water and oil pumps.
On an electronic level, the CMX1100 Rebel 2026 has three predetermined driving modes: Standard, Rain and Sport. In addition, there are two customizable USER modes, which allow the rider to individually adjust the power, engine braking and traction control parameters according to their preferences. Once configured, these settings are saved automatically and do not need to be reconfigured every time the bike is started.
Cycle part of the Honda CMX1100 Rebel 2026
The tubular steel chassis of the 2026 CMX1100 Rebel is a style statement in itself. Based on the raw and minimalist design of its little sister, the CMX500 Rebel, it maintains the characteristic diagonal line that runs through the bike from front to back. The 13.6-litre fuel tank, with no visible flanges, sits atop 35mm diameter main tubes, more robust than those on the 500.
At the suspension level, the 43mm cartridge-type front fork features two-piece black legs with a dark blue titanium oxide finish. The dual rear shocks feature 12.5mm stems and pressurized piggyback reservoirs. Both the front and rear suspension are adjustable in spring preload.
The braking system is made up of a four-piston radial monobloc front caliper acting on a 330 mm floating disc, and a single-piston rear caliper with a 256 mm disc, both managed by dual-channel ABS. The five-spoke “Y”-shaped cast aluminum wheels mount wide-profile tires that reinforce their presence: Front, 130/70B18; rear: 180/65B16.
If we talk about general dimensions, the CMX1100 Rebel 2026 declares a wheelbase of 1,520 mm, while the curb weight is 226 kg in the standard version of the model.
Equipment and finishes of the Honda CMX1100 Rebel 2026
The 2026 CMX1100 Rebel offers a simple, raw and artless aesthetic, conceived by the same Honda design studio in the US that shaped the CMX500 Rebel. The front and rear fenders are made of 1mm thick steel and mounted on cast aluminum brackets. The low-positioned 175mm diameter headlight has a classic shape, but houses four LED bulbs with thick internal lenses that create a very defined front light signature.
The 55mm circular turn signals also evoke a classic style, while the oval-shaped, clear-lens LED taillight provides a modern touch that harmonizes with the rest of the Rebel design. Instrumentation is provided by a 5-inch color TFT screen, already proven in other Honda models, which uses optical lamination to improve visibility in broad daylight.
By sealing the gap between the protective glass and the screen with resin, glare is reduced and backlight transmission is improved. The interface is customizable with three display styles: Bar, Circle and Simple, and includes smartphone connectivity through Honda RoadSync (iOS and Android).
This functionality is managed from a backlit four-way control on the left handpiece, which allows easy access to turn-by-turn navigation on the screen, as well as making calls or listening to music through a Bluetooth intercom in the helmet. The USB-C port, previously located under the seat, has been relocated next to the screen for greater convenience and ease of connection.
The CMX1100 Rebel 2026 can be ridden alone or with a passenger (the rear seat is easily removed with screws) and under the seat there is a practical 3-liter storage compartment. The ignition key is located on the left side of the chassis and allows you to open the seat without having to remove it from the ignition. For long journeys, cruise control comes standard.
Honda CMX1100 Rebel 2026 versions
In the 2025 model year, the CMX1100SE Rebel was introduced, the first production Honda (except the legendary RC213V-S) equipped with mirrors at the ends of the handlebars. These mirrors, designed in machined aluminum and anti-reflective treatment, provide a distinctive touch.
Other factory accessories include a small front fairing matching the color of the bike, specific fork gaiters, a sporty-style short front fender, a seat with diamond-shaped stitching that improves comfort and aesthetics, and an anodized radiator cover that reinforces the exclusive character of this edition.
For this year the model is offered in two color schemes, one of them new:
