For a long time, information has been leaked in which it was assumed that HRC and Repsol were not going to continue their relationship. A relationship that had lasted almost three decades, and that had reaped great rewards in the form of titles for both drivers, manufacturers and teams.
Doohan, Crivillé, Hayden, Stoner and Marc Márquez achieved world titles with HRC and Repsol in the Repsol Honda Team. In addition, Dani Pedrosa, Jorge Lorenzo, Pol Espargaró, Max Biaggi, Sete Gibernau, Taddy Okada… And more recently Joan Mir and Luca Marini had defended the predominantly blue and orange colors of the Spanish firm.
Castrol will enter in 2025 but not as main sponsor
But as it comes to an end, and despite a deliberate attempt to cover up that announced end, HRC is prepared to once again count on Castrol as a sponsor and collaborator. A collaboration that we have been seeing for years with Honda’s satellite team, the LCR, in which we have even been able to enjoy spectacular and already legendary decorations.
Since 2015, this collaboration with Lucio Cecchinello’s team has been extended, so it is a somewhat natural step. As reported by Motorsport, which were also the first to echo the end of the agreement with Repsol, the agreement is on the table, although the decorations of the RC-213V are not expected to revolve around the Castrol image, since will not enter as main sponsor.
Therefore, it can be said that Castrol will be a sponsor of a rather technical nature in 2025, although anything is possible for the coming campaigns. In fact, in the past other Honda Racing Corporation motorcycles, in this case the WSBK, have achieved great results with white, green and red as the main sponsor.
