Iker Lecuona already recovers from their injuries after passing through the operating room

The chaos unleashed by Andrea Iannone in the first round of race 1 of the WSBK in Balaton Park had several harmed. One of them, Iker Lecuona, which as a consequence of it, suffered a fracture in the left forearm, specifically on the distal radius.

This type of fracture, in the area closest to the palm of the hand, usually occurs when it falls on the extended hand, although in the sequence of the fall of Iker Lecuona after being onslaught it is not appreciated whether it was so or not. What is clearly seen is that it is the left part of his body that hits heavily against the ground.

In any case, after being declared not suitable to continue competing in Balaton, the Spaniard set for Valencia, where a new exploration confirmed the injuries that Iker had to go through the operating room. Thus, Dr. Eduardo Sánchez Alepuz carried out the operation at the IMED hospital in Valencia in order to stabilize the area.

Now Iker Lecuona is in full recovery process despite the fact that, logically, the Suzuka 8 hours will be lost in which this week was going to participate. His position will be covered by his partner Xavi Vierge.

The first review of the evolution of the fracture will take place on Monday, August 4, at which time Iker will go through the hands of the medical team. For now there are no public recovery deadlines, although Honda HRC has confirmed that it will offer updates on the recovery of Lecuona.

Official Honda HRC statement on Iker Lecuona:

“The Honda HRC pilot, Iker Lecuona, has been successfully intervened from the fracture suffered on the left distal forearm (ul Suzuka (Sunday, August 3), where he will be replaced by his partner Xavi Vierge.

For now there is no scheduled date in which Lecuona will rise to the motorcycle again

The intervention, held on Monday, July 28 by Dr. Eduardo Sánchez Alepuz at the IMED hospital in Valencia, concluded successfully achieving the desired stabilization. Lecuona spent the night at the clinic and was discharged on Tuesday morning. Your next medical review is scheduled for Monday, August 4. Honda HRC will continue to offer updates on the recovery of Lecuona in the next few days. ”
