Have you ever seen a KTM 1390 Super Duke R doing supermotard in the offroad area? Well, there’s always a first time for everything, and Lukas Höllbacher is in charge of showing us that “If you try, you can”. The outcome would be quite another matter in your hands, or in mine. But that is another story.
The fact is that Höllbacher, Supermoto champion in the American championship, is an expert in these matters. We are talking about putting some of the KTM bikes to the test outside their official territory. In a way, he is responsible for demonstrating that they are also efficient outside their natural habitat.
A KTM 1390 Super Duke R flying low to the ground
One of the latest videos that the Austrian pilot has starred in on one of his social networks is precisely at the controls of a 1390 Super Duke R literally doing motocross. As we can see throughout the seconds that the sequence lasts, the bike is completely stock, without any offroad elements that could make the maneuver easier.
That doesn’t seem to stop Höllbacher from going from a paved section to a dirt section, with his rear wheel completely crossed, to then tackle a hill located within the course and end up jumping into the air when he reaches the top of the same throttle. Finally, he travels a few metres on the dirt, when he manages to put both wheels on the road, to end up coming out again onto the paved part of the circuit.
Let us remember that the 1390 Super Duke R is a device that commands respect in every aspect. We are talking about a motorcycle that declares a final power of nothing less than 190 hp at 10,000 rpm and 145 Nm of maximum torque at 8,000 rpm. Figures that are responsible for driving the 200.5 kg dry which declares the brand, to infinity and beyond.
So you can imagine the tact that the Austrian driver must have when it comes to getting the most out of the 1390 Super Duke R on dirt. Of course, it goes without saying that this is just one of the many stunts that Höllbacher shows us on the web.
Also It is capable of traveling more than 15 meters in the air at the controls of a 990 Duke either taking a curve completely sideways while riding an 890 SMT Don’t believe me? Well, take a look at his Instagram profile and delight in his spectacular maneuvers.
