Probably the most controversial announcement of the year is the change of era at Jaguar. It broke with everything before deleting the publications from their social networks and launching a somewhat ambiguous communication. Now we finally have something more than the new logo and colors, since they have just presented the prototype that will serve as a guide in this stage that is about to begin. Receives the name of Jaguar Type 00 and it is the preview of a production model that the brand will launch at the end of 2025.
As can be seen, the prototype is a Two-door coupe with a very striking design. The production variant will be a four-door GT, but will follow its main lines. The name refers to the legendary E-Type and also to the F-Type that was present until relatively recently. However, it completely changes the concept and is shown with a very elongated and minimalist front. There is no place for a grille, it is completely faired, with a surface that imitates the grille and very small headlights.
What stands out in the prototype are some very bulging wheel arches to accommodate 23 inch wheelswhile the shape of the C-pillar is truly evocative. It is drawn by a roof drop that includes a blind lunette and ends directly in a rectangular gate. Since there is no rear spoiler, it is where it converges with the side panels and there appear minimalist taillights, which are just two horizontal LED strips. Of course there is no trace of exhaust exits.
The Jaguar Type 00 is a 100% electric model, as will be all the brand’s models in this new era. It sits on the Jaguar Electrical Architecture platform (JEA) and not many details have been given about its performance. Yes, they dare to venture that the production version will have a autonomy of up to 770 kilometers and that it could get up to 321 kilometers in 15 minutes thanks to fast charging. High power levels and four-wheel drive are also more than possible.
The cabin continues with the minimalist philosophy and the buttons completely disappear. Two large screens take up everything the dashboard, which is divided by a console that we doubt will reach production. The steering wheel is newly designed and stands out for its oval shape. Everything is customizable and the screens are hidden when leaving the Jaguar Type 00. Following this line, a first model has already been confirmed, but later two more will also arrivesome with a crossover body.
