Kyle Ryde, BSB champion, will ride 300 miles on a Monkey to raise funds for Maria Costello

Although Kyle Ryde does not know María Costello personally, the two-time BSB champion driver was shocked by the situation of his compatriot after the serious accident he suffered in the TT. It must be remembered that as a result of this, the injury report is shocking and includes paralysis from the T5/T6 vertebrae down, as well as a fracture of the arm, ribs, nose, eye socket, sternum and a serious grade 4 liver laceration.

All of these injuries will have a great recovery cost, not only physically but economically, and that is where Ryde wants to help. In addition to being one of the BSB’s leading drivers, Kyle is known for starring in online videos in which he appears with his Honda Monkey in a series called “Monkey Magic”. So the idea that the British man had was to raise money for María through his Monkey or, rather, with her.

Kyle will raffle different items among those who donate money

Ryde has decided to get to the next BSB meeting from home. Something that doesn’t sound like much, but it takes on interesting proportions when you know that between his place of residence in Jacksdale, Nottinghamshire, to Knockhill, in Scotland, there are a whopping 483 kilometers.

Ryde’s adventure seeks to get as much money as possible

As wonderful as the Honda Monkey is, we are talking about a great distance, especially if we take into account that the maximum speed barely exceeds 90 kilometers per hour. In its favor, however, it has the excellent autonomy of the small motorcycle that is capable of traveling more than 250 kilometers without refueling, thanks to its low consumption and the small 5.6-liter tank.

In any case, we are talking about a journey that takes around five and a half hours by car, and that will take Kyle Ryde much longer to travel in the Monkey. In any case, the idea is to leave for the Scottish circuit either on Tuesday, June 16 or on the 17th, and he encourages anyone who wants to accompany him on his adventure to contact him through networks to accompany him.

The purpose of all this is to obtain the greatest number of donations possible, which in addition to helping Costello will have a reward. And everyone who participates in the donation will enter a raffle for which Ryde has donated different objects, such as a pole position watch, some boots, some gloves…

He also encourages his colleagues to join in with more donations. All the information about this peculiar way of helping to raise funds for Costello is available on Kyle’s profile, both on Instagram and Facebook.
