Luca Marini will not be at the Aragon Grand Prix that is held this weekend in Motorland. The Italian pilot suffered a serious accident in the Suzuka circuit in a test of the 8 hours in which, after the first day of Training, he already knew that he was not going to participate. That did not remove so that the Italian insisted on continuing to work, and it was at that point when he suffered the fall that has still admitted to a tokyo hospital.
Marini suffered a long list of injuries: dislocation of the left hip, damage to the ligaments of the left knee, fractures in the sternum and left clavicle, as well as a pneumothorax on the right side, which is why he has been admitted to the ICU.

Fortunately, the worst part has already been left behind and Luca is already in the plant where, as his father confirms through Moto.it, the tests have concluded that there are no complications in the knee ligaments and, therefore, it is ruled out to have to operate it. In addition, the general clinical picture continues to improve. It is expected that it will not take long to return to Italy, although there is still no date for it.
While Luca remains in Tokyo, Honda has not appointed a substitute for the weekend of Aragon. Although it was speculated that some of the tesing pilots could compete, finally HRC has decided not to align any and wait for the next round to do so. And the regulation allows the pilot not to be replaced in the first instance, although for the Italy GP they will already have to replace it.
There is no doubt that this setback puts Marini in a complicated position, and although right now it is not the most important point, it is worth mentioning that the Italian fulfills a contract with HRC at the end of the season and, for now, there is no official communication that confirms that it will continue in the official team.
Moreover, his place is one of the most coveted and Jorge Martín, also injured, is for now one of the main candidates to occupy it if he manages to disconnect from Aprilia.
