Zyon Helmets is the new Spanish brand that has developed a motorcycle helmet designed to protect against air pollution and allergies, thanks to a patented filtration technology known as Breath Safe System. The company marks a milestone in safety, since it also integrates an impact absorption system MIPS.
Zyon Helmets: In search of revolutionizing the motorcycle helmet market
Zyon Helmets was born in Spain in 2022, specifically in Madrid, and is aimed at a global market, with the aim of being in distribution by the end of 2025. The idea comes from one of its founders, the industrial engineer Tanguy Uzelpassionate about motorcycles and who suffered daily the effects of pollution while traveling.
Furthermore, he noticed the lack of innovation in motorcycle helmets and decided to join the brand’s co-founder, Guzmán Colilla, also founder of The Crown Creators, a well-known marketing agency in motor sports.
Tanguy Uzel, co-founder and CEO of the company, comments: “Air pollution is one of the main causes of death in the world, and motorcyclists are the most exposed users in cities, traveling without protection on traffic routes and behind other vehicles. In figures, it is up to 100 times more exposed than motorists, who have filters in the cabin.”
Concludes: “The motorcycle helmet market is a sector that has shown very little dynamism in the last decade in terms of innovation and technology. With the launch of Zyon we intend to take a step forward with a product that not only takes care of the health of users, but is also a pioneer in the safety it provides thanks to its shock absorption technology and intelligent connectivity.”
Zyon Helmets breaks trends with a modular helmet that is committed to improving the quality of life of urban motorcyclists, as it combats exposure to pollutants and allergens, improving their long-term health. This is possible thanks to its patented Breath Safe System advanced filtration technology with interchangeable filters that ensures the user breathe clean air.
On the other hand, its impact technology MIPS (Multidirectional Impact Protection System)reduces rotational forces during accidents and its integrated rear light improves the rider’s visibility, increasing their safety. In order to prolong the useful life of the product, the helmet has an integrated chip and sensors that connect to an App that monitors the status of the helmet and filters, alerting the user of any changes and ensuring the greatest protection.
Since its founding, Zyon Helmets was selected by Juan Roig’s incubator, Lanzadera in Valencia and L’Escalator in Paris, incubator of Maurice Lévy, president of Publicis Groupe, providing solid support and visibility in the innovation sector. Furthermore, in June 2024 the company was awarded for its innovation in safety and health with the AUDI Startup Challenge Award which was held at the prestigious VivaTech event in Paris.
In 2023 the company closed its first investment round, which allowed it to develop the final product and is currently in the closing phase of its second investment round.
Regarding its distribution, the helmet is already available for pre-order through its website, and it is at the end of 2025 when the official sale of the product is launched on the market, both in its eCommerce and in a network of associated stores in Europe.
