Starting in September, the brand’s dealer network in Spain will be launching the Mitsubishi Colt LPG. It was in 2024 when the seventh generation of the utility vehicle came onto the market, a model with a long history behind it – launched in 1978 and with more than 1.2 million units sold from its six previous deliveries. This new iteration has been made on the basis of the Renault Clio, which allows it to have hybrid, combustion and, from now on, LPG versions.
It is available from 17.200 € associated with Motion finishwith discounts and financing campaigns included. Which means that it costs just 800 euros more than the gasoline version. It uses the three-cylinder turbocharged 1.0 MPI-T engine with 90 hp (67 kW) and 160 Nm of torque, associated with the six-speed manual transmission. However, the Mitsubishi Colt LPG increases its maximum power to reach 100 HP and the maximum torque is set at 170 Nm (+10 Nm compared to the gasoline version).
We have already analysed LPG and its advantages. In the case of the Mitsubishi Colt 100T LPG, it has two fuel tanks, which is why its range exceeds 1,000 km without having to refuel if both fuels are used.
In addition, LPG models get the ECO label from the DGT. This entitles you to discounts in regulated parking areas in large cities and guarantees access when anti-pollution protocols come into effect.
Compared to the Mitsubishi Colt 100T we tested, in addition to the increase in power, it also boasts higher fuel consumption (6.9 l/100 km versus 5.2 l/100 km), which is logical for models powered by this fuel, but as it is cheaper at the service station, the cost per km is reduced. However, CO2 emissions are lower (102 g/km versus 118 g/km) and performance is identical, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 12.2 seconds and reaching a top speed of 174 km/h.
