Presented on the occasion of the Daytona Motorcycle Week In 2007, the Travertson V-Rex had been shown previously in the form of an initial concept under the acronym “Dream Bike”. Now one of the specimens that make up the second series of the model is on sale in Henderson, Nevada. A motorcycle that also seems that it was part of the stellar cast of the fourth installment of the mythical Fast & Furious television saga.
This unit specifically, which we have known thanks to Bike Urius’ companions, has just 1,600 kilometers traveled Since it was enrolled back in 2012. Taking into account that its base price in that same year of its registration was more than double this figure, we are undoubtedly before a true bargain.
TRANVERTSON V-REX: everything that shines is not gold
It is clear that the Travertson V-Rex is a truly iconic and eccentric motorcycle in equal parts. Perhaps this is why this unit is currently offered for “only” $ 25,000. Fundamental aspects related to its technical configuration, make it suitable for only a few fans. For example, that has a total length of no less than 2.7 meters. This, together with the more than 300 kilos that the mark declared in a gear order, make it, at least, a delicate motorcycle of piloting.
Then there is its futuristic design, the work of Christian Travertthe same that is also part of the MTT Jet 420RR Supersonic Development Team. The inspiration to give life to the Silhouette of the Travertson V-Rex came from in a science fiction image of the Australian graphic designer Tim Cameron.
But of course, Cameron’s motorcycle did not have to circulate in real life, an aspect that seems to be did not take into account Travert in its final design of the V-Rex, but the final levels of this striking cruiser are not explained.
Be that as it may, the model began to be marketed in 2008 and for 2011 this second version of it was launched. The difference between both phases of production is basically the shape of its seat, which in the restyling variant gave the possibility of being able to take a second occupant. Beyond this detail, both use the well-known engine that mounted the Harley-Davidson V-Rod in those times.
