The renowned MotorLand Aragón circuit will continue to host WorldSBK action until 2027 following an agreement reached between WorldSBK and the Government of Aragon. This agreement ensures that the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship will visit the circuit in 2025, 2026 and 2027.
A mainstay on the WorldSBK calendar since 2011, MotorLand Aragón has recently undergone a major revamp. Over 75,000m² of the track has been resurfaced and new 700-metre-long kerbs have been installed. Run-off areas have been updated and new colours have been applied to highlight the track boundaries, all to FIM standards.
Gregorio Lavilla, WorldSBK Executive Director, expressed his satisfaction with this agreement: «We are delighted to secure the future of WorldSBK at MotorLand Aragón. Its spectacular layout makes it a favourite among motorcycling fans, producing exciting racing and presenting a significant challenge for all competitors. In addition, the circuit boasts excellent facilities. The recent improvements underline the commitment of MotorLand Aragón and the region to supporting world-class racing.«.
For his part, Manuel Blasco, President of MotorLand Aragón, commented: “With this new three-year contract we bring stability to the circuit’s calendar. This event is very important for the image of Aragon, as it attracts around 30,000 visitors to our facilities. We are also very satisfied with the resurfacing of the circuit, which guarantees that MotorLand meets the highest quality standards to welcome our visitors.«.
Round 10 of the 2024 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship will be held at MotorLand Aragón from 27-29 September, featuring all three classes and the FIM Yamaha R3 bLU cRU World Cup, promising an action-packed weekend.
