Exactly a year has passed since Honda presented its new CB1000 Hornet at the last EICMA 2023, until the Japanese brand has finally decided to launch it on the market. In addition, it arrives together with an SP version ready for those most demanding pilots looking for extra features and equipment.
A new range of frames that join the already existing CB750 2023, returning the Hornet acronym to all those who love the brand and especially this unmistakable saga.
Honda CB1000 Hornet 2025 in detail
Powered by the well-known engine of the 2017 CBR1000RR Fireblade, the new Honda mount offers a final power of 152 HP at 11,000 rpm and a torque of 104 Nm at 9,000 rpm. The Throttle By Wire (TBW) offers 3 default driving modes, plus 2 USER options that allow the driver to choose their own preferred settings. Equipped as standard with a quickshifter.
In the cycle part, the brand opts for a double beam frame supported by a front fork Showa SFF-BP USD 41mm and a Showa rear shock. The four-piston Nissin radially mounted front brake calipers work with 310 mm floating discs. The 240mm rear disc uses a single-piston Nissin caliper, while the CBR1000RR-R-style cast aluminum wheels mount 120/70-ZR17 front and 180/55-ZR17 rear tires.
The launch angle and trail are set at 25° and 98 mm, with a wheelbase of 1,455 mm, while the curb weight is 211kg. The seat height is 809 mm and the handlebar position is up and back, which with a sporty position of the footrests forms a rider triangle (seat / handlebars / footrests) with a relatively upright position of the upper part of the body.
If we talk about equipment, finishes and electronic systems, Honda has left nothing in the pipeline to create its new CB1000 Hornet 2025. From the full LED lighting, to the black finishes of its chassis or the tapered steel handlebars. The technology comes in the form of a fully customizable 5-inch full-color TFT display with different bar, circle or single layouts and offers Honda RoadSync connectivity for IOS/Android smartphone. The rear turn signals also incorporate an Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) function.
Honda offers us its new 2025 CB1000 Hornet in up to three different color schemes: Grand Prix Red, Matte Iridium Gray Metallic and Glare White Pearl. Additionally, a range of genuine Honda accessories are available for the CB1000 Hornet. They are available combined in packs or individually:
- Style Pack: Designed to further enhance the style of the Hornet. The alcantara driver’s seat adds a premium touch along with the oil filler cap, handlebar mount, radiator grille and driver’s footrest. The wheel bands are the finishing touch.
- Sport Pack: Reinforces the sportiness with a Quickshifter, a visor for the instrument panel, keel and seat cover. A tank pad adds practical protection.
- Comfort Pack: Added cold-weather comfort with heated grips, plus flexible, easy-to-fit cargo capacity with a tank bag and rear seat bag.
Honda CB1000 Hornet SP 2025: Big words
If with the above we feel that we still need a little more in terms of performance and dynamics, Honda has prepared an incredible variant for us as the culmination of this party. CB1000 Hornet SP. Broadly speaking, it is equipped with the same four-cylinder engine as the CBR1000RR Fireblade, although it offers maximum power and torque figures of 157 HP and 107 Nm respectively.
Furthermore, we find a Showa SFF-BP USD fork 41mm fully adjustable rear shock Ohlins TTX36 working through Pro-Link, Brembo Stylema four-piston radially mounted front brake calipers and quickshifter as standard. Throttle By Wire electronic throttle control offers three riding modes with pre-programmed combinations of power settings, engine braking and HSTC with integrated wheelie control, plus two customizable options.
With gear ratios designed for optimal acceleration, the six-speed gearbox features an assist/slipper clutch. The dual LED projector headlamps reflect the pure aggressiveness of streetfighter styling. For easy on-screen navigation (and more), the 5-inch color TFT instrument cluster connects the driver to their smartphone via Honda RoadSync.
To top off this visual and technical delight, the new CB1000 Hornet SP sports a livery finished in Matte Ballistic Black Metallic with Desert Metallic gold wheels and gold front fork.
