The Arai RX-7X Maverick Oakley joins the long list of replica helmets that the Japanese manufacturer has in its catalog. As a base, it takes the most advanced model, the RX-7X, manufactured by hand and which represents the maximum exponent in terms of safety, ventilation, comfort and fit of the Japanese firm.
Logically, it has ECE R22-06 approval, which is mandatory for all models, but which makes the helmet even safer in the event of an accident. In fact, one of the tests of this homologation seeks to measure the rotation of the helmet, something that Arai has been perfecting for a long time thanks to its rounded and smooth external shells, which improve the helmet’s ability to slide and divert energy.
The Arai RX-7X Maverick Oakley is a replica of the one used in the 2023 Italian GP
On this occasion, the Arai RX-7X Maverick Oakley comes to the market to offer a different design for all Maverick Viñales fans. The one who until recently was an Aprilia MotoGP rider and will now join KTM, wore this model at the 2023 Italian GP.
The reason? Both the Grand Prix and the Maverick itself shared a sponsor, Oakley. The glasses manufacturer was the main sponsor and contributed its name to the official nomenclature of that GP, which was renamed GP Oakley of Italy 2023.
It is a design very much in line with what Viñales usually likes, in an epic and warrior tone that the Catalan pilot has always boasted. We have already seen him on other occasions wearing special helmets and, without going much further, this 2024 he has also worn special decorations for one reason or another.
The military green color and the printed military patterns give a different touch to the Arai RX-7X Maverick Oakley, which is available in stores with a RRP that is close to 1,100 euros and that varies depending on the seller. Although we have also located units around 900 euros. As for the sizes, they range from XS to XL.
