The British RST brand, specialized in technical equipment for motorists and distributed exclusively in Spain by BIHR, has announced a strategic alliance with D3O, world leader in impact protection technologies. The agreement, which is a qualitative leap in security, was made public during the TT of the Island of Man 2025, one of the most demanding environments of motorcycling.
A declaration of intentions that arrives right in the edition in which the cancellation of Senior TT reminded everyone that protection can never be a secondary option. The collaboration between RST and D3O is the result of a year of joint work with the official pilots of the brand. After this development period, the British firm has confirmed that its competition monkeys will incorporate D3O protections throughout the 2025 season.
D3O protection represents a new security standard
In addition, this same technology will also be available in commercial models from 2026, thus bringing elite protection to the end user. D3O is an intelligent material that remains flexible at rest, but it hardens instantly before an impact. This quality makes it a perfect ally for bikers, combining comfort, ergonomics and an exceptional level of protection.
As explained Stuart MillingtonVice President of RST, «Collaborating with innovation leaders is part of our natural evolution. With D3O we have rigorously developed and proven real improvements that we are now proud to launch in our next collection ». The feedback by the pilots has been equally overwhelming. Glenn Irwinmultiple winner of the BSB and official RST pilot, highlights that:
«The RST X D3o armor gives me peace of mind on the motorcycle. It is light, comfortable and you barely notice. It allows us to be more agile and feel protected. Fulfills its function perfectly ». Lee JohnstonExpiloto del TT, add that «The update with D3O protections has taken my RST monkey to another level. Incredibly comfortable and with an extra confidence that makes a difference over the motorcycle ».
The D3O protection will be integrated into key areas such as shoulders, elbows, back and knees. Its presence thus becomes a new standard for the high performance garments of the RST range, reinforcing the position of both brands as referents in safety and technology applied to motorcycling.
On the part of D3o, its CMO Mostyn Thomassummarizes the spirit of the alliance clearly: «Our emblematic armor offers unparalleled protection and exceptional comfort. This collaboration with RST reinforces our leadership and allows pilots to overcome their limits without commitments. This is what it means’Give It Orange ‘«.
The RST range with integrated D3O protection will be available on the official BIHR website and in stores next year as part of the RST 2026 collection.
