Spain will celebrate two Grand Prix

The post-Jorge Prado era begins in the MXGP World Championship, and although the championship will continue as it has always done, we will have to see how it may affect the fact that the four-time champion is not on the grid for the Spanish fans.

And the MXGP 2025 calendar has two events in Spanish territory: Cózar and Lugo. Two Grand Prix on national soil and on two tracks that debuted with good marks last season.

The World Cup will start in Argentina, if there are no changes, on March 2 and only two weeks later it will stop in Spain to compete in the Castilla-La Mancha Grand Prix in Cózar. Last year, on this same track, Jorge Prado won the two-time MXGP championship and this year the La Mancha event will be the one that opens the European season.

Cózar and Lugo will be the epicenter of world motocross for a few hours this season

After Cózar the most intense part begins with visits to France, Italy, Switzerland and Portugal, before returning to Spain on the weekend of May 11. Lugo will also host the championship for the second year and will do so on this occasion as the Spanish GP, thus replacing Arroyomolinos, which disappears from the calendar.

The Spanish GP will be the eighth race of 20 scheduled and, from there, the championship will travel through the rest of Europe, with an Indonesian GP that is to be confirmed in the middle of the European tour which, in turn, will give way in September to a championship finale in Turkey, China and Australia. Then, to close the season, will come the Motocross of Nations, which this year will be held in Crawfordsville, United States.

Lugo will be the headquarters of the Spanish GP
