Well yes, a clear example of what motivated young people are capable of is the brand new Electric Superbike Twente Vector-STBy the way, as we told you at the beginning, this is a racing team made up of students from the Netherlands. Their mission is clear: build an electric superbike from scratch and make it the fastest on the circuit.
Since its founding in 2017, this team has created several high-performance electric motorcycles designed for the track. By the way, in 2018, the team achieved its first major success when its racing motorcycle, the Liion-GPwon the MotoE European Championship.
Now, Electric Superbike Twente continues to advance strongly and his latest has been to successfully complete a test on the TT Assen circuit, during the Jack’s Racing Day 2024one of the largest combined racing events for cars, motorcycles and karts in Europe. Secrets of the Twente Vector-ST Electric Superbike
The Electric Superbike Twente Vector-ST reaches a maximum speed of 300 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in less than three seconds. All thanks to an electric motor PMAC 160kW custom-built electric motor, delivering 625Nm of torque to the rear wheel. Despite its impressive performance, this EV superbike has a relatively light weight of 200kg, considering it is equipped with an 8kWh modular lithium polymer battery.
The structure of the bike is based on a custom chrome-molybdenum steel frame, accompanied by a single-speed swingarm. Honda CBR600RRA set of front forks has also been installed. Ohlins and a custom-made rear shock absorber. As for its performance on the track, the video above makes it clear that this is an extremely capable machine. Plus, its spaceship-like sound adds a futuristic touch, replacing the typical roar of the exhaust.
