He DS 4 Hybrid is the new version of the brand’s compact car with 48 volt technology that is capable of moving the car with electric energy, like conventional hybrids (about a kilometer if you drive below 30 km/h, the brand ensures that up to 50% of the time in the city). It obtains the ECO label from the DGT and is now available for a price between 38,000 and 46,000 euros.
The hybrid system consists of a gasoline engine 1.2 with 136 HP and 230 Nm which operates on the Miller cycle (more efficient), with an optimized distribution chain and a variable geometry turbocharger. It is coupled to a new e-DCS6 six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, where it integrates the electric motor and the inverter, saving space and weight.
Then it has a 0.9 kWh battery (with warranty of 8 years or 160,000 km). It recharges automatically while driving, with great energy recovery capacity during every braking and deceleration. That energy is then used to move the car (the speed indicator turns blue to perceive it, in addition to the on-board computer reporting on the energy flow, battery charge level and percentage of distance traveled in mode. electric.
Even on long trips, like the one we were able to make with a unit from Santander to Madrid, spending is contained. With a consumption of less than 7 l/100 km, it is an option to take into account compared to diesel. And the brand says that the propulsion technology of the DS 4 Hybrid saves around 20% fuel compared to an equivalent gasoline engine.
The brand is already accepting orders for this variant, which you can find with the Pallas, Etoile finishes and the Antoine de Saint Exupery version.
