This model represents a new proposal in the multifaceted approach of the Japanese brand towards mobility with zero emissions. Development has been led by Masatsugu Tanakawho appears as a pilot in the video and has a long and prominent career in Honda, working in the motorcycle area for more than two decades.
Tanaka-san joined Honda directly from high school, carrying with him the dream of creating “the best motorcycle in the world”, and his history of developed models speaks for himself. Between 1998 and 2006, Tanaka-San perfected the driving and managing of models such as the CBR600F, CBR600RR, CBR1000RRRR Fireblade and the Gold Wing, in its role as a Project Leader test for large-cylinder motorcycles.
Since 2006, such as Deputy Large Project Leader, he has directed the development of successful models such as the VFR800F, VFR1200F, VFR1200X CROSSTAURER, CRF1100L Africa Twin and NT1100. As of 2022, he took over the development and dynamic tests in the electrification department.
The transfer of the extensive knowledge and experience of Tanaka-san, along with a passionate team of young engineers dedicated to creating fun electric motorcycles, has allowed the EV fun concept to maintain the balance, quality and fun factor that characterize Honda.
“We developed the first FUN Electric model of Honda under the key concept of ‘Be the wind’. This model offers a silent and soft conduction, typical of the electric models, and a feeling of total unit with the machine that can make drivers feel like the wind”explains Tanaka-san.
“Based on my 20 years of experience with Honda internal combustion models, we have applied all the accumulated knowledge to this electric motorcycle to create a really exciting model of driving. We have performed exhaustive tests in Europe – where our customers are – to evaluate the performance, load and daily usability, carefully refine each aspect of the model to guarantee a reliable experience and focused on pure fun.”
Concludes: “A new Fun Fun model is on its way, and we are looking forward to it.” Honda directly points a date on the calendar as the exact moment in which he will announce the final version of the EV fun concept: Next September 16. Until then we will be attentive to any novelty on the subject.
