We already told you a few weeks ago, after Indian Motorcycles visited EICMA 2024, that it was preparing a special edition of the Springfield, called Springfield Special Edition and of which the Yankee brand will only market 50 copies for the entire world with a price that starts from 33,790 euros in our country.
However, this special edition of the Indian Springfield also represents its farewell to some of the international markets where it is currently sold. This fact is probably one of the main reasons why the American firm has made the decision to launch an Elite version of the model next year, as some international media have already confirmed.
Indian Springfield Elite 2025: First details
The news has broken after the brand’s request for patent registration in Australia Springfield Elite. This also becomes a historic fact within Indian, since until now no Elite special edition had been carried out on a model that did not include the famous integral front fairing. Previously, the American firm has launched the Chieftain Elite, Roadmaster Elite, Challenger Elite and Roadmaster Elite.
If we inspect in detail the documentation regarding the approval of the model, we can see how it includes the internal code “THEBB” which, as explained by Motorcycle: “According to Indian’s typical code structure, the “T” denotes a heavy air-cooled model.”
“The “H” tells us that it uses the basic Springfield saddlebag design and not the more modern-looking saddlebags of the Springfield Dark Horse, which are identified with a “J.” The “E” is reserved for Indian Elite models. Finally, the BB at the end identifies the engine as a Thunderstroke 116 and not the 111 version (indicated with “AA”).
Another curious detail of this certification is the inclusion of a 19” front tire on the Springfield Elite, the same one used by the Springfield Dark Horse. This technical aspect does not change other key data of the model, such as the wheelbase, the final weight of the set or other dimensions declared in the standard version. Of course, it will come equipped with all the extra elements that are usually included in Indian’s special Elite editions. Also an artisanal color scheme with hand painted details.
For now, the release date of the new Springfield Elite 2025 is not clear. If we let ourselves be guided by logic, it will probably be in the month of February when India officially presents it, just as it did last year with the Roadmaster Elite 2024. We will be attentive to new updates on the subject.
