Deliveries of the new model begin in September. Lexus RZ 300ethe front-wheel drive version of the Lexus RZ that until now could only be chosen with all-wheel drive. This premium electric SUV thus gains an entry-level variant with greater autonomy. The recommended starting price is 57.900 €although it can reach 80,900.
The new Lexus RZ 300e, by lacking a motor on the rear axle, reduces its weight so that the autonomy in the combined WLTP cycle increases to 480 km (with 18-inch Aero EV alloy wheels) or 419 km (with 20-inch Premium EV alloy wheels). For all-wheel drive (AWD) versions, range figures range from 440 km to 395 km.
The RZ 300e’s permanent magnet synchronous electric motor delivers 204 HP (150 kW) with a maximum torque of 266 Nm available from zero rpm. It completes the 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 8.0 seconds. It is associated with a lithium-ion battery of 71.4 kWh capacity.
The new RZ 300e will be available in three trim levels, called e-Business, e-Executive and e-Luxury (The latter can have a two-tone bodywork). As standard, it has elements such as metallic paint, heated steering wheel and front seats, 12.3-inch Lexus Link Pro multimedia system with navigator, Smart Entry hands-free access system or dual-zone climate control. The most complete ones have a dimmable panoramic roof, a radiant heating system, or an electric tailgate.
There is no shortage of safety systems grouped together in the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, with features such as the pre-collision safety system (PCS), with emergency steering assist, adaptive cruise control, or proactive steering assist (PDA). The Driver Monitor system checks the driver’s level of alertness, and is capable of stopping the vehicle and activating the hazard warning lights if the driver does not react. The Lexus e-Latch soft-opening system incorporates a safe exit assist function that automatically prevents a door from opening when a vehicle approaches from behind.
