The new LiveWire S4 Honcho is now in production: electric, urban and with A1 license

As we are telling you, LiveWire Group, Inc. has officially started production of its new range S4 Honchoa project that marks a change of pace in its industrial and commercial strategy. Thus, after its conceptual presentation at events such as the Homecoming of Harley-Davidson and EICMA In Milan, the electrical firm now makes the leap to series production with a much more accessible approach. By the way, a model that we already talked to you about at length.

This is what the LiveWire S4 Honcho 2027 are like

The range is divided into 2 versions, S4 Honcho Trail and S4 Honcho Streetboth conceived as mini electric motorcycles equivalent to 125 cc. This places them directly within the range of the A1 license in Europe, a movement clearly aimed at attracting new motorcyclists, urban users and profiles looking for a simple alternative for everyday use.

Thus, the philosophy of S4 Honcho is clear: reduce entry barriers to the world of electric motorcycles. It is a compact, lightweight product designed for versatile use, from the city to recreational getaways. The company’s own CEO, Karim Donnezsummarizes the objective as a way of “open access to electric driving to a much wider public, highlighting its easy, manageable and everyday-use approach”.

Both versions of the Honcho They share a common technical base, with solutions focused on practicality: double removable battery, possibility of home charging and an architecture designed to make life easier for those who do not have a garage or dedicated charging points.

Obviously, the S4 Honcho It moves in a clearly urban and leisure terrain. With a weight of around 120 kg and a maximum speed of close to 95 km/h, its approach does not seek sportiness, but rather agility in the city and surrounding areas.

The removable batteries with a combined capacity of 3.48 kWh allow ranges of up to 86 km in the WMTC cycle, or around 118 km at constant speed. Recharging from 20 to 80% takes about 2 hours from a 230V domestic socket, a key fact for its approach to daily use without complications.

Livewire Honcho Trail and Street

As we mentioned at the beginning, the range is divided into 2 interpretations of the same concept. The Trail It adopts a more versatile aesthetic and somewhat higher ergonomics, with a seat located at 813 mm. The streetfor its part, slightly lowers that figure to 788 mm to reinforce its urban orientation.

Both versions mount 305 mm wheels, include a reverse function and a clearly differentiated design according to their intended use, although they share the same technical base and propulsion system.

Without a doubt, one of the most relevant points of this launch is industrial collaboration. The production of the S4 Honcho is carried out with the support of KYMCOa key partner in global light vehicle manufacturing. This alliance allows LiveWire scale production, reduce costs and rely on a more efficient logistics network, while maintaining the support of the commercial structure of Harley-Davidson in international markets.

As we have learned, the new family Honcho You already have a defined calendar. Production began at the end of May 2026 and the first units will reach dealerships in the summer, with progressive expansion during the rest of the year. Regarding prices, the S4 Honcho Trail part from 5,299 euroswhile the S4 Honcho Street is located in 5,699 euros. Figures that place LiveWire in a much more accessible territory within the 2-wheeled electric market, especially in Europe, where access with an A1 license opens the door to a very wide audience.
