The Porsche Cayenne GTS is the version that purists will like the most

The new Porsche Cayenne 2024 (and the Cayenne Coupé 2024) complete their ranges with the new Porsche Cayenne GTS, a sporty variant – the GTS acronym comes from Gran Turismo Sport – with a 500 HP (368 kW) biturbo V8 engine and a chassis aimed at maximum performance. It is not cheap, since its price in Spain is 160,459 euros (the Coupé rises to 164,056 euros). Deliveries to customers in Europe start in summer 2024.

The main protagonist of this version is its mechanics. Regarding the 2020 Cayenne GTS, it retains the 4.0-liter biturbo v8, developed by Porsche and manufactured in Zuffenhausen, but gains 40 HP (30 kW) of power up to those 500 HP, with a maximum torque of 660 Nm, 40 Nm more than before. It is associated with a revised eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission, which improves response and shortens gear change times in Sport and Sport Plus modes.

The chassis has a specific setup and is 10 mm lower than other versions in the range. As standard it has adaptive air suspension, which includes Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus). There is no lack of Porsche Traction Management (PTM) and Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) is optional.

The GTS's two-valve damping technology offers more responsiveness and the two-chamber air suspension gives the vehicle sporty performance without sacrificing comfort. The front axle pivot bearings of the GTS (from the Cayenne Turbo GT, which is not sold in Europe), increase the negative camber of the wheels by 0.58 degrees compared to other variants of the model. This increases agility in curves and improves driving feel. Another technology of the Turbo GT is that the Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive transfer case has an independent water cooling circuit.

In terms of performance, it does not disappoint. The Porsche Cayenne GTS accelerates 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and its maximum speed is 275 km/h.

Like the rest of Porsche's GTS, it has details to recognize it immediately. From the GTS in black on the sides and rear, larger cooling air intakes in the front, dark tinted front and rear headlights or red brake calipers.

As standard, it also has the Sport Design package that adds side skirts, front inserts, side window trims and wheel arch extensions, all in high-gloss black. The sports exhaust system's tailpipes, which were previously black, are now finished in dark bronze. In addition, it mounts 21-inch RS Spyder wheels with an Anthracite gray finish.

If you choose the Cayenne GTS Coupé you gain a fixed panoramic glass roof or the adaptive extendable rear spoiler and can have a sports exhaust system with dark bronze central outlets. It is available as part of three Lightweight sports packages that can reduce vehicle weight by up to 25 kg.

Inside, a heated GT sports steering wheel is standard and Race-Tex fabric (similar to suede) appears on the roof, armrests, door panels or center panels of the eight-way adjustable sports seats. Two alternative GTS-specific interior packages are offered, one in Carmine Red and one in Neo Slate Grey.

All the technology of the current generation is not missing, such as the new Porsche Driver Experience with a curved digital instrument panel as standard or the optional passenger screen. In addition to the Sport Design package, dark-tinted HD LED matrix headlights and air suspension, the model also features a Bose surround sound system and ambient lighting.
