Screens have been evolving since they began to become popular, first with the movie screen and later with televisions. But the step did not stop there and little by little the screens have become absolute companions. There are still movies and there is still television, but even the kitchen robot has one and, of course, the latest motorcycle models that hit the market as well.
This has made brands become more refined every day to achieve more efficient screens, that look good, that are large, that give us the information we need and in the easiest way to understand… And KTM is prepared to go one step further. far, with which to achieve perfect communication between man and machine.
In fact, at KTM they call the screens MHI, which in Spanish would be Human-Machine Interface, and it all has to do with the objective that the Austrian manufacturer sets to make this communication as effective and simple as possible.
For this they have developed the V80 and H88, in which the letter means vertical or horizontal and the number means inches. It is not that the screens are 80 and 88 inches, but 8.0 in the case of vertical screens, and 8.8 inches in the case of horizontal screens.
But the size is not the most important part, although it is appreciated to be able to have the information easily, but rather the screen is an inductive touch screen. It has anti-reflective, anti-fingerprint and anti-glare coatings that, on the one hand, allow access to information in a faster and more intuitive way than through switches and, on the other, make it easier to see in all conditions.
The new screens will be incorporated little by little into the KTM range
Thanks to these treatments and 256,000 colors compared to 65,000 in previous versions, you can see clearly in all conditions. Therefore, you can access all the information on the screen, which is also configurable and includes offline map navigation, so it is not necessary to synchronize or connect it with your mobile phone because it has its own GPS.
As usual, it also serves to connect our phone and other devices via Bluetooth and WIFI. To top off this whole system, as we told you before, the screen is touch screen and you will wonder if it will work or not with gloves.
Well yes, and they don’t need to be special, their technology will make it work without major problems. Of course, the system will continue to include a 5-way joystick and other switches such as cruise control, A/M (automatic/manual) button for AMT models, lights and ignition switch, among others.
Of course, as KTM reports, these new screens will be available in the brand’s next premium models initially, and it will be in the coming years when they will be incorporated into all the brand’s models.
