The strong falls of Razgatlioglu and Rea mark the first day of Test in Australia

The desire to start the preseason tests in Australia have been weighed down by the hard falls of two of the main protagonists of the championship: Razgatlioglu and Rea. The two world champions have suffered in their own meats the hardness of a layout like Phillip Island, where if everything goes well it is wonderful, but when the thing is complicated, it really complicates.

That is what happened to both. In the case of Toprak Razgatlioglu with a fall that has been immortalized and that puts the hairs on end when he saw it. Fortunately, the Turk is in a position to continue up to the motorcycle and, although it is sore, he has been able to continue working with his BMW in the FP2 for the WSBK inaugural round this weekend.

Petrucci has been competitive, like Iannone

Less luck has had Jonathan Rea that, in his accident in curve two, in the final bars of the session, he has been hooked with his left foot on the motorcycle. After being treated in the circuit, where some fractures have already been confirmed, REA has been transferred to Cowes where multiple fractures have been confirmed on their left foot, which ends both the tests and the first date of the season.

In the next few days, Rea will pass reviews in Australia before flying to the United Kingdom, where it will undergo surgical intervention. At the moment the recovery deadlines are unknown, although there is no doubt that it has been a stupid, at a time when Rea and its R1 seemed more timely than ever.

Despite the falls, Bulega and Ducati have been the protagonists

Bulega has been remarkably faster than the rest
Bulega has been remarkably faster than the rest

Beyond those two falls that have conditioned the first day, Ducati has been the great dominator of the first day, with Nicolo Bulega, standing out on the rest of the pilots. The Italian has been the fastest in the morning, but in the afternoon he has flown stopping the chrono 1.28,765, almost half a faster than Andrea Iannone.

In spite of everything, Razgatlioglu has been able to climb to third position, although almost six tenths. Then we found Danilo Petrucci, who has been fourth to 947 thousandths, and Álvaro Bautista completing the top5 to more than a second.

While the Bimota, with Alex Loes as a faster pilot in the sixth position, continue to burn stages. Locatelli has been the first Yamaha pilot, with Vickers, Vierge and Gerloff completing the top10 of this first day.
