The VOGE RR500S arrives to put upstream segment of the medium -displacement sportsmen

For years, rather, the segment of medium displacement sports seemed condemned to oblivion, caught between small utilitarian and large superbikes. But everything changed when Kawasaki decided to recover the spirit of the four cylinders of 400 cc, so popular in the 80s and 90s, with the ZX-4RR. Since then the alternatives are growing with new models.

The last manufacturer to show his new weapons is VOGE, the brand of the Loncin giant, which has just presented in China the new RR500s, a sport equipped with a 475 cc engine and four cylinders online. The figures attract attention alone: 76 hp at 12,500 rpm (cuts to 14,000) and 219 km/h of declared tip speed.

We must take into account, for those who do not know the brand, which Voge is not a newcomer. Loncin has been collaborating with BMW for years in the production of engines and scooters, and right now they have motorcycles such as the DS900X that have had great acceptance by users.

In this case, the RR500S does not enter such a desired segment, because it seems that sports are not at its peak, but will try to take their part of the cake.

The price in China is devastating

As a good sport of half -displacement, the best of the VOGE RR500S arrives in the upper part of the Vueltas account

Entering a little more details about the RR500s engine, we find 16 valves with Finger Follower, wrought crankshaft and DLC treatment for some internal pieces. Everything designed to withstand the rotation regimes that demands such a “tight” mechanic.

The maximum torque, 47 Nm at 11,000 rpm, arrives late in the turns, yes, but according to the brand 80% is already available from 5,000 rpm. That promises an engine that, without losing nervous nerve, is also usable on a day -to -day basis.

The set is completed with a steel tubular chassis, cast aluminum tilting, an inverted fork and a wheelbase of 1,385 mm, with 50/50 peso distribution. As for the brakes, Nissin signs the tweezers of four pistons and, in the electronic section, we find ABS and traction control. In addition, Voge already prepares a more advanced version equipped with ABS in curve, tire pressure sensors and titanium exhaust.

As for the price, it is surprising to see how in China it has been announced between what would be 3,500 and 3,900 euros, a figure that is simply unattainable in Europe where, if, it will do so with a competitive price as it happens with all the brand models, but that will be significantly higher for everything it entails.

And this leads us to the last question: will we see this motorcycle rolling on our roads? Without official confirmation at the moment, the information that arrives from China suggests that. When? That is more difficult to know at the moment …
