Headfirst, a newly created Dutch brand, has recently announced its new adjustable helmet Echo pro. Initially destined for bicycle users, its Safefit technology could make sense, in the future, within the motorcycle world. Under the motto “Press to fit, press to release. Easy.”they postulate to be a revolution within the sector.
Headfirst Echo Pro in detail
As the brand creators explain, “Headfirst began with a simple observation: traditional helmets simply do not fit well. As Dutch cyclists that we ride daily, we were tired of the uncomfortable fungus helmets that compromised both safety and style. We knew that there had to be a better solution.”
By 2023, with the collaboration of the AMSTERDAM Design Study, they carried out the technical development of the project, after shaping “Dozens of concepts, we created innumerable prototypes and we performed rigorous tests. Our mission was not to create an increasingly better helmet, but to solve fundamental problems that had afflicted cyclists for decades”their creators explain.
And in this way the definitive design that they have baptized under the name of Echo Pro is born. This is essentially distinguished by the use of the Safefit system by which, pressing with the thumbs two lateral mechanisms that equip, we will notice as the back of the helmet and the lateral themselves are efficiently adjust to the contour of our head.
To take off the helmet we would press the aforementioned mechanisms and automatically return to its standard position. Daan Zoetmulderfounder of Headfirst, explains New Atlas’s companions: “Most of the flexibility of our helmet and the Safefit system is concentrated on the sides and the rear. The front part maintains a greater structure for optimal protection, but we include additional padding options to guarantee a comfortable adjustment for all head shapes.”
Other discharge technical characteristics of the innovative Echo Pro innovative are:
- Weight: 450 g (s), 500 g (L)
- Exterior housing: ABS with 15 % recycled materials
- Interior protection: multi -impact EPP (expanded polypropylene)
- Padded: breathable, removable and washable fabric that absorbs moisture
- Correas: recycled polyester with recycled magnetic buckle
