We warned you just a couple of days ago that today the reservation period would open for what is possibly the most powerful scooter in history, the new Italjet Dragster 700 Twin. In addition, the Italian brand is doing so with a limited Factory edition of which only 700 units will be sold. But this is not the best part of the matter.
According to what they have published on their social networks in the last few hours, the final price for this “devil’s contraption” will be 14,900 euros for the initial variant, and 12,900 euros for the standard version which will be marketed later. If we take a look at those that will presumably become its most direct competitors, we are literally talking about a bargain.
Italjet Dragster 700 Twin: One of a kind
We stress this presumably, basically because the new Dragster 700 Twin is totally different to anything we have seen before in the maxiscooter sector. In the words of the brand’s CEO, Massimo Tartarini: “We don’t like to call it a scooter, but ultimately, end users will decide whether they see it as a scooter or a motorcycle.”
Tartarini is of course referring to the fact that the Dragster 700 Twin is equipped with a six-speed gearbox. That is, it is equipped with a 692 cc twin-cylinder engine associated with a conventional gearbox that can be found on a bike in any other category, something unprecedented in the scooter sector.
But that’s not the only thing that surprises us about the new Dragster 700 Twin. The brand has already given us some of the main technical features that it will have, as well as the performance figures that it will offer its lucky owners. 68 HP of power and 190 km/h perfectly define Italjet’s intentions with its new sports maxi-scooter.
In order to keep the potential of the Dragster 700 Twin under control, Italjet has used a top-level chassis which, in this Factory version, is even more reinforced with elements such as a suspension system that includes a rear shock absorber and Ohlins steering. Other notable elements exclusively for the limited launch edition are:
- Custom black/gold livery
- Akrapovic exhaust system
- Brembo calipers
- DucaBike clutch cover with a transparent viewing window
Finally, and as the icing on the cake, there is its aesthetics. Halfway between the design of a MotoGP bike and that of the most radical scooter ever built, the Dragster 700 Twin is intimidating at first sight with its front air intakes, exhaust system under the tail and the imposing tubular chassis that is visible.
The livery is black, with silver, red and bronze details. Now comes the best part: the price. Italjet has announced a final price of 14,900 Euros for the limited Factory version. After selling the 700 units of this special initial edition, they will start working on the standard version, which will cost 12,900 Euros. As I said, a real bargain that you can reserve by clicking on this link.
