Triumph is currently experiencing one of its most interesting sporting moments. In addition to being the official engine supplier in the Moto2 World Championship, and having an almost unbeatable presence in MXGP where they can take the MX2 title this season, they also participate in many other competitions and even have one-brand cups.
One of the championships in which the Hinckley brand is represented is the World Supersport, where they have two teams that compete with the Triumph Street Triple 765 RS. But as GPOne colleagues reveal, the situation could change significantly by 2027.
And everything seems to indicate that the possibility of having a factory team is on the table. Currently Booth-Amos and Oli Bayliss are within the PTR structure, while Compos Racing has Vostatek and Koning.

Triumph would bet on its own team, not on promoting any of the existing ones
The idea, apparently, is not to strengthen these teams and take advantage of their structure to set up a kind of hybrid official team. It is something that we have seen on many occasions in the World Superbike and Supersport, and that is happening right now with ZX-Moto, Bimota or Kawasaki. However, they would be thinking about having the entire infrastructure under their control like Ducati and Honda do in WSBK.
In any case, for the moment it is an idea that is on the table rather than a completely defined project. There is no doubt that the decision should not be dragged out over time if we want to achieve what Triumph has already achieved in motocross, which is to go fully in and be prepared to achieve the best possible results.

If the project goes ahead or not, it will also be interesting to know the approach and, above all, the pilots. And even though the bike is competitive, to be able to fight at the top you need a guarantee. Perhaps Booth-Amos himself, who this year has achieved two victories, a second and a third place with Triumph, is a good option. Perhaps Jorge Navarro, who competed with them in France as a substitute for Bayliss and was at a high level, is also an option… Only the passing of the weeks will tell us.
