Since 1901, the races have been a fundamental part of Indian Motorcycle DNA, a legacy defined by visionaries such as Burt Munro in Las Salinas de Bonneville. With that spirit in mind, Tyler O’Hara And Indian Motorcycle, in collaboration with S&S Cycle and Mission Foods, left for Bonneville to check the speed of the racing motorcycle with which he participates in King of the Baggers.
Tyler O’Hara enters through the big door of Bonneville’s story
Piloted by Tyler O’Hara, Indian Wrecking Crew pilot and twice King of the Baggers champion, Indian Challenger, manufactured by S&S, crossed the legendary Salinas, celebrating the history and timeless search for speed. United by passion and precision, S&S and Indian Motorcycle Racing contributed decades of proven efficacy engineering to one of the most emblematic test circuits of motor racing.
Broking the doors of the 322 km/h, O’Hara paid tribute to the legends that preceded it with a New record Ama 2000 CC APS-AG of 315.77 km/h (1972 previous record: 271.81 km/h with a J. Angerer Triumph). Gary GrayVice President of Product Technology, Races and Service of Indian Motorcycle, commented after reaching this new milestone for the brand:
“Bonneville is a sacred place, not only for Indian Motorcycle, but for all motor racing. Our S&S engineers have been looking for speed in the Salinas, and we have been talking for a long time to see what our Indian Challenger, the queen of the Baggers, could do there. While we are proud to have broken a record, this effort was more than establishing a speed mark on land: honor the legends that preceded us and strive to go as quickly as possible. “
