Although we are fully involved in full season, the tests in which official pilots can participate are really important, and more in those cases where performance is not being expected. That is why a test like Motorland’s, even if we leave a spectacular time from Maverick Viñales, which was the fastest ahead of Marco Bezzecchi, it is not significant about the results reflected in the time table.
And it is not that the marked time does not have merit, but having pilots who have made an “chrono attack” with all of the law such as Viñales and Bezzecchi, with a single quick round in a batch of a leaving round, another attack and the return to Box; And other pilots like Marc Márquez (third), who made longer batches all day, it is not easy to draw conclusions on that speed.

And it is that in the Motorland tests many things have been seen on different motorcycles, although perhaps there are other changes that are not visible, but that are ultimately more effective.
Motorland test novelties were essentially aerodynamics
If all brands had something in common, they tested a lot in the aerodynamic part, and that is that Motorland is a very interesting track to be able to test this type of solutions. KTM was precisely one of the brands that tested the most solutions and among them are a fairing with a certain resemblance to Ducati and also new fins. In the same way we saw the so -called “Salad Boxes”, a solution for the vibrations that in KTM seek to solve that way.
Aprilia also tested new aerodynamic solutions, although in this case more discreet and seeking not only to improve performance but the problems they suffer with heat. In addition, in Noale they continued working on motor, chassis and electronics to try to find more traction at the exit of the curves. Another of the novelties of Aprilia was to see Manu González debut in MotoGP.
Ducati was the third fastest motorcycle and also the Italian brand pilots tested new aerodynamic solutions. Specifically, a new fairing that seems to have liked official pilots, although there are doubts about whether or not they will use it in the next appointments. What were clear in the red box is that it is not worth modifying the base that worked so well on Sunday, and that is why in addition to the fairing, they were working, like the rest of the brand’s pilots, to improve sensations and tuning.
Fabio Quartararo was again Yamaha’s spearhead with the seventh best time of the day, although in the case of other brands the times on a return were not so important, in Yamaha they were even less. And it is that the brand’s pilots were testing different aerodynamic solutions, but also many other pieces, including tests with the swingarm.
In the case of Yamaha, this test has been a snack that will have this week in Montmeló where, in addition, it is expected that Andrea Dovizioso rolls with the V4 that the rest of the brand’s pilots are waiting so much.
To close the news list we have Honda, with Joan Mir Tenth, thanks to the morning time and getting all brands to have a representative at the Top10, in addition to the fact that 15 pilots rolled less than a second of the best time. In any case, the important thing for Honda was to continue working in the aerodynamic part, with Mir testing the fairing that Aleix Escaredó in Jerez used, in addition to other elements.
