Exactly one year ago Kove launched its current 450RR, a light, medium-displacement sports car that will now be supported by a naked version in the form of a 450R. In them, what stands out, above any other aspect, is the use of a powerful tetra-cylinder engine with 71 HP of power, combined with a low empty weight of 165 kg, in the case of the RR model.
The theory is that the new Kove 450R It will be presented within the framework of the Beijing International Motorcycle Show, which will start on May 17. However, thanks to the colleagues at Motorrad Online we already know the first images of the new naked sports car from the Chinese brand. And to tell the truth, what's coming doesn't look bad at all.
Kove 450R 2024 in detail
Fans of the brand are eagerly awaiting the presentation of the new 450R of the Asian firm. After the great expectation that her sister raised in the RR version, this naked variant will a priori have most of the components that debuted a year ago, the Kove “Hi Sport”.
This translates into a lightweight steel chassis supported by a robust aluminum swingarm, as well as the use of a Kayaba suspension kit, with inverted front fork and adjustable rear monoshock. It is not clear that the new 450R is equipped with radially mounted brake calipers, at least not in the images we have.
What does seem to remain unchanged will be the 443 cc tetra-cylinder engine, water cooled, with 4 valves per cylinder and double camshaft. This engine also has an efficient fuel injection system signed by boschhomologating a final power of 71 HP at 13,000 rpm and 39 Nm of maximum torque at 10,500 rpm.
In the current 450RR Kove declares 165 kg empty and a top speed of 220km/h. Presumably the new 450R lower that final maximum weight figure, but also keep it somewhat below, performance-wise, among other things due to the lack of protection provided by the full fairing in the sports version.
Other technical aspects that the Kove 450RR has are very likely to be maintained in its naked sister. For example, the wheelbase of 1,385mm, the seat height or the capacity of its fuel tank, estimated at 14 liters. Dual-channel ABS or 17” wheels shod with 120/70-17 tires at the front and 160/70-17 at the rear, respectively, would also be part of the standard equipment of the 450R.
Finally, and speaking in terms of equipment, the new 450R should equip a full-color TFT screen, TCS or a Quickshifter, just like the RR version. All of this is yet to be confirmed, as is the final price to be paid, although an official rate is expected to be around 30,000 yuan (800 less than the 450RR), give or take a few 3,900 euros at the current exchange rate.
