Following the presentation of the Hypermotard 698 Mono, there has been talk for a while about a possible Ducati 698 model range. Among them an Enduro version and a Rally version, as we already mentioned in an article dedicated to the subject. But this would only be a taste of what could be to come. Scrambler, sports or streetfighter versions are also included in the hype as possible 2025 models.
If we go back to the origin of this whole topic, we have as a starting point the official presentation of the Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono 2024, the first single-cylinder Supermotard from the transalpine brand equipped with record-breaking performance thanks to a mechanics of this type. Its studied Superquadro Mono engine is packed with cutting-edge technical solutions.
As a result we find ourselves with 77.5 HP of power at 9,750 rpm (the limiter is set at 10,250 rpm) and 63 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm. In the case of the Hypermotard 698 Mono, ready to pull just 151 kilograms. In addition, the brand offers a version with power limited to 35 kW intended for users with A2. But also the possibility of installing a Termignoni racing exhaust system that, in track configuration, increases maximum power by up to 7 HP, reaching the incredible value of 84.5 HP.
Ducati 698 2025 model range viable?
With the cards on the table, more than one person has already made calculations about what the Italian firm’s plans could be for the next season. And these would involve having a range of Ducati 698 models ready to meet the tastes and needs of almost any lover of the transalpine brand. In fact, our colleagues at Motorrad Online have drawn up a list with these possible variants:
- Ducati 698 Enduro
- Ducati 698 Rally
- Ducati 698 Desert X
- Ducati 698 Marianna
- Ducati 698 Monofighter
- Ducati Scrambler
Of the first three we already know some details of what we could expect. Single-cylinder mounts very well thought out for off-road use without hesitation. And, with them, face to face with what is perhaps its most direct rival: KTM. On the other hand, we would have the scrambler optionin the image and likeness of the current range of models of the brand, but subject to the aforementioned Superquadro Mono engine.
Perhaps the biggest news would come with the possibility of once again having a Ducati 698 range specifically intended for the road, in a sports version (Marianna) and a scaled-down StreetFighter, the Ducati 698 Monofighter. The latter would be configured more like a naked version of the own Ducati 698 Marianna.
There is no date on the calendar yet that would allow us to say that a range of Ducati 698 models is definitely on the way. However, we highly doubt that the Borgo Panigale brand has developed an engine like the one in the Hypermotard 698 Mono to be used in just one model. Time will tell, although we bet that at EICMA 2024 we will have new information about this interesting possibility.
