Audi RS 4 Avant edition 25 years: quarter of a century in style

We all know the tradition of the family Audi RS, something that began with the legendary RS2 Avant in 1994. Three decades have passed since then, although really the first RS made by quattro GmbH (now Audi Sport GmbH) was another. In 1999, the B5 generation RS4 Avant came out with that unforgettable 2.7-liter biturbo six-cylinder engine developed in collaboration with Cosworth. Now tribute is paid to him through the Audi RS 4 Avant edition 25 yearswhich is positioned as the top of the range with increased power and many improvements.

To celebrate the quarter of a century, the compact family debuts an improvement in its mechanics 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6. Essentially it is the same as in the rest of the RS 4 Avant, but thanks to a modification in the software, an additional 20 HP is obtained. It is therefore left with 470 HP and 600 Nm of torque, so it also manages to be the fastest in the range. Now accelerate 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds (being four tenths faster) and the maximum speed becomes limited to 300 km/h.

There is no shortage of a series of really interesting additions, such as having the RS carbon-ceramic brakes or the RS plus sports exhaust as standard. He also mounts the RS pro sport suspension, an adjustable coilover type that can lower the height of the model by up to 20 mm to improve its precision. As in other models, there is no lack of the quattro sports differential to round out its agility and cornering, especially in the Dynamic driving mode. As a curious note, this specimen negative drawdown increases of the front axle to two degrees and has more rigid suspension arms.

The tires They are also exclusive to the Audi RS 4 Avant edition 25 years, with a very striking mechanized design and 20 inches. With the Competition package you can mount forgings that reduce unsprung masses. In any case, they are paved by some Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires high performance and adds a second set of semi-slick Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo RS that are for the circuit. So much so, that they have the Track Adrenaline system for real-time monitoring.

In terms of design, it's pretty easy to differentiate the 25th Anniversary Edition from the rest. The color gives it away Imola Yellow in honor of the 2001 RS4 Sport, although it can also be chosen in Mythos Black. There are also a series of glossy black details, including some unprecedented ones such as those on the side windows or those on the rear lights. It extends to the logos of the four rings and the roof bars are eliminated to gain sportiness. There is no lack of special edition registrationsomething that extends to the interior with a black/yellow combination in its RS bucket seats with honeycomb stitching and the carbon backrest

The Audi RS 4 Avant edition 25 years is an edition limited to 250 units. Only five copies will arrive in Spain, those numbered #40 to #45. The first units will arrive after the summer and their price amounts to 165,600 euros. Its customers will be able to opt for the RS 4 Avant edition 25 years chronograph, inspired by the vehicle's design, with a carbon dial and yellow details.
