Bernie Ecclestone’s masterful Formula 1 collection for sale

Bernie Ecclestone He is a major figure in the motor world. The one who was the maximum leader of Formula 1 for three decades, has had a long and full life, with cars always as the guiding axis. In these years he has managed to put together a masterful Formula 1 collectionprobably the most valuable in the world. And he has decided to get rid of it and put it up for sale. At 94 years old, he wants to make that sale and properly say goodbye to his vehicles rather than leave that task to his wife when he is no longer here.

Named the “Ecclestone Grand Prix Collection”, it is made up of 69 cars that Bernie has been putting together for the last 50 years. There are vehicles from all eras, spanning seven decades of competition and having examples of a distinguished pedigree. The tycoon was owner and director of Brabham when he created Formula 1, so from that time he has a series of around 30 rarely seen cars.

There are those with which Nelson Piquet was champion and also historical ones such as the BT44B and BT45C. Even that BT46B with which Niki Lauda won the Swedish GP, taking more than half a minute ahead of the rest. Among the curiosities There is a Maserati 250F, the 16-cylinder Mark II BRM and the Vanwall VW10 with which Stirling Moss won in 1958. The latter was the first British car to win a Formula 1 race.

Although Bernie Ecclestone is also a die-hard Ferrari fan and that’s why there are 17 cars from the brand cavallino in your collection. There is no shortage of the 375 F1 that was driven by Alberto Ascari and that beat Alfa Romeo for the first time. Nor a 312 F1, which is considered the most original survivor of the time. There is even the Dino 246 which would be the last with a front engine to reach the podium or the F2002 driven by Michael Schumacher.

As we said, there are no less than 69 cars that make up Bernie Ecclestone’s collection and have been put up for sale by specialist Tom Hartley Jnr. There are no details yet, but it is clearly a compilation that exceeds 100 million euros and that we will follow closely to see into whose hands it passes.
