With the arrival of the new BMW F 450 GS 2026, the German firm introduces an authentic medium-displacement trail bike within the A2 category, aimed at motorcyclists looking for a complete adventure experience without giving up accessibility. With 48 HP of power and a completely new package, this model is positioned as the ideal entry point to the GS universe, inheriting all of BMW Motorrad’s experience in the development of versatile, robust and technologically cutting-edge motorcycles.
The F 450 GS 2026 was presented as one of BMW’s great novelties at the EICMA show, ushering in a new era for medium-displacement GSs. With its design inspired by the iconic big GS, a completely new chassis and a twin-cylinder engine redesigned from the ground up, the German brand sets a new standard in the A2 trail segment. Lightness, balance, precision and confidence are the pillars on which this new generation of adventure motorcycles is built, especially designed for those looking for a versatile model both for everyday use and for off-road getaways.
Engine of the BMW F 450 GS 2026
The heart of the new 2026 BMW F 450 GS is a completely redesigned 420 cm³ inline twin-cylinder engine. It develops 35 kW (48 HP) at 8,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 43 Nm at 6,750 rpm, figures that place it at the top of the A2 category. This engine uses a crankshaft with crankpins offset 135 degrees and a counter-rotating shaft that significantly reduces vibrations and provides a more emotional and dynamic character to the power delivery.
Its behavior is smooth and progressive, but at the same time full of life, offering immediate response both on the road and on dirt tracks. Optimized internal friction and the use of high-tech materials allow for outstanding efficiency, with an average consumption of 3.8 l/100 km and a range of more than 350 km thanks to the 14-litre tank.
Among its innovations, the new Easy Ride Clutch (ERC) stands out, a centrifugal system that eliminates the need to manually operate the lever while driving. This mechanism, standard in the GS Trophy version and available as an option in the rest of the finishes, allows you to start, change gears or maneuver without having to use the clutch, improving control, comfort and safety, especially in off-road driving.

Chassis, suspensions and brakes of the BMW F 450 GS 2026
BMW Motorrad has developed a new multi-tubular steel frame for this 2026 F 450 GS that uses the engine as a supporting element. This design offers a perfect combination of rigidity, robustness and lightness, resulting in a curb weight of just 178 kg, one of the lowest in its category.
In the front we find a 43 mm KYB inverted fork, while at the rear there is a hollow cast aluminum double-arm swingarm with a KYB central shock absorber. The Sport and Trophy versions incorporate the sports suspension, with compression and rebound adjustments derived from the world of rallying. This set provides exemplary agility and excellent absorption capacity on all types of surfaces.
The braking system is signed by Brembo, with a 310 mm front disc and 4-piston caliper and a 240 mm rear disc with a single-piston caliper. As standard, it includes BMW Motorrad ABS Pro, which allows braking at full tilt in total safety, along with dynamic braking control (DBC) and the dynamic brake light, improving visibility during sudden braking.
The set is completed with 19” front and 17” rear aluminum wheels, shod with tubeless tires for mixed road/off-road use. In addition, BMW offers crossed-spoke wheels as an original accessory, perfect for those looking for more intensive off-road use.
Technology and equipment of the BMW F 450 GS 2026
Like all BMW GS, the new F 450 GS 2026 combines tradition and cutting-edge technology. It includes Rain, Road and Enduro riding modes as standard, along with ABS Pro, DTC (traction control), DBC (dynamic braking control) and MSR (engine drag torque control). Starting with the Exclusive finish, an Enduro Pro mode is added, designed for off-road use with the possibility of disconnecting the rear ABS.
Lighting is provided by a full LED headlight with the characteristic “X”-shaped light signature of the modern GS, accompanied by LED turn signals and taillights. The cockpit features a 6.5-inch TFT screen, with full connectivity for smartphones, music, calls and navigation, as well as specific “Pure Ride” and “Sport” display modes that show parameters such as inclination angle, traction level or braking force.
The ergonomics have been carefully designed to offer comfort and control in any situation. The high, close-to-body handlebars, together with the 14-liter tank located under the seat, guarantee a perfect balance between center of gravity and riding position. Adjustable levers, heated grips as standard and footpegs with removable rubber inserts complete a driving position designed for both daily adventure and long routes.
BMW also offers a wide range of original accessories: seats of different heights (low, standard and Rallye), handlebar risers, windshields of different sizes, engine protectors, fenders and luggage options with side bags, tank top and top case.
