To commemorate the Nürburgring centenary in 2027, BMW M and BMW Motorrad present the joint special edition “100 Years Nürburgring”. This edition includes six BMW M cars and three BMW Motorrad M modelspaying tribute to a place that stands out for its dynamism, precision and driving performance.
The models in this edition are based on the latest technical advances of the German group. Regarding the two-wheeled sector, three are the options we have to be able to get one of the examples that make up this exclusive initiative: BMW M 1000 RR, BMW M 1000 R and BMW M 1000 XR. For the automobile division, six models have been chosen to capture this special and limited series: BMW M2, BMW M3 Sedan, BMW M3 Touring, BMW M4 Coupé, BMW M5 Sedan and the BMW M5 Touring.
The “Green Hell” as a development reference.
The 20.8 kilometer Nordschleife, with its 73 corners, significant elevation changes and variable track characteristics, is considered one of the most demanding circuits in the world. The relationship between BMW Motorrad and the Nürburgring dates back to 1927, the year in which the brand achieved its first victory there.
For BMW M and BMW Motorrad, the Nürburgring is a development circuit, a benchmark and a stage to achieve maximum performance. Under extreme conditions, the chassis, propulsion system, aerodynamics, brakes and thermal management are tested together. The knowledge acquired is directly applied to the development of series models.
“100 Years Nürburgring”: a century of passion for motorsports
A distinctive feature common to all nine anniversary models is the Nürburgring green paint, developed exclusively for this edition, complemented by elements specific to each model. The motto of the edition, “Born on the circuit. Made for the street”summarizes the idea: experience in sports motorsport is transferred to high-performance vehicles for the road.
This concept incorporates the “100 Years” logo, the inscription “Nürburgring since 1927” and the silhouette of the Nürburgring circuit. The historic green color of the Nürburgring constitutes the distinctive visual element of the edition; Model-specific graphics, materials and accent colors carry this design over to both cars and motorcycles.
BMW Motorrad “100 Years Nürburgring” Edition in detail
The BMW M 1000 RR, BMW M 1000 R and BMW M 1000 XR make up the anniversary edition motorcycle range. Each model is limited to 100 units worldwide. Standard equipment includes the M Track package, historic Nürburgring green paint, commemorative stickers, carbon wheels, black rear swingarm and subframe, and an Alcantara-covered seat with “100” embroidery.
The fuel tank is painted with Nordschleife decoration and the air filter box cover with commemorative design and the inscription “one of 100”. An M cover kit for the BMW M 1000 RR and BMW M 1000 R, an exclusive M motorcycle mat with the Nürburgring 100th anniversary logo and a rear wheel stand complete the package.
Orders and availability
Information on orders and availability of the special BMW Motorrad “100 Jahre Nürburgring” models will be announced soon, as reported by the company itself. For their part, the BMW M3 Sedan, BMW M3 Touring, BMW M4 Coupé, BMW M5 Sedan and BMW M5 Touring models will be available for order from September 2026; The BMW M2 will follow in January 2027.
